Brynn Whitfield Announces Exit From 'RHONY' After Two Seasons

9 June 20253 Mins Read

Brynn Whitfield is saying goodbye to the Real Housewives of New York City.

After two seasons on the revamped version of the long-running Bravo series, Whitfield, 39, took to Instagram to announce that she won’t be returning to RHONY.

“After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to walk away from reality TV. For now,” Whitfield wrote in a statement shared to her Instagram Stories.

“The Real Housewives of New York City will always be one of the most fun, chaotic, and magical chapters of my life. It was the honor of a lifetime to help reboot such an iconic franchise,” she explained. “From day one, I’ve believed RHONY is a fan’s show—we’re just temporary custodians of something that truly belongs to the viewers.”

“I hope I made you laugh (a lot), cry (a little) and more than anything—I hope there’s a TV in heaven so that Mimi (who LIVED for her shows) could watch me and be proud,” Whitfield continued.

Despite her exit from the series, Whitfield said she’s “just getting started” and is looking forward to continuing her podcast, Please See Below. As for her future on reality TV, that seems less certain, with Whitfield, who starred on seasons 14 and 15 of the series, saying “all [she wants] to do now,” is pour “every ounce of energy into building” the dating app she co-founded, Hoppy, with hopes of making it the “#1 dating app in the world.”

She’s also in the works of releasing a book—due out later this year—and will be splitting her time between her London and New York City offices as she builds Poppy away from the glare of the Bravo cameras.

Whitfield’s announcement follows RHONY‘s explosive season 15 finale and its subsequent two-part reunion, in which she went head-to-head with co-star Ubah Hassan.

During a group trip to Puerto Rico, Whitfield told her castmates she was upset with Hassan, 41, for implying Whitfield “slept with someone” to get on the show. She also noted Hassan allegedly said this after Whitfield confided in her about her prior sexual assault.

Hassan, however, was adamant that she had no knowledge of Whitfield’s experience. But, the drama made its way off-screen, with with Whitfield doubling down on her version of the events in an interview with Rolling Stone.

“It’s not right to assume that everyone remembers everything that you say all the time and then hold them accountable for that,” Whitfield told the outlet. “I know for a fact that I said it, but when someone’s screaming into the phone, the other person might not necessarily hear them.”

While Whitfield’s exit from RHONY has been cemented, the future of the rest of the women seems less certain, with Bravo’s casting company, Shed Media, announcing a call for new potential housewives back in January, signaling that another shakeup could be in the works for the women of NYC.

All 15 seasons of The Real Housewives of New York City are available to stream on Peacock.
