A plane crashed at Toronto Pearson Airport, leaving multiple people injured

9 June 20252 Mins Read

A Delta flight travelling from Minneapolis to Toronto crashed at Pearson International Airport on Monday.

John Nelson, a passenger on Delta Flight 4819, captured footage from the crash site, showing the plane flipped upside down.

According to a CTV News report, 18 people were injured in the accident. No deaths have been reported.

The flight, operated by Endeavor Air, left Minnesota an hour late, at 11:34 a.m. (12:34 p.m. Eastern Time), before touching down in Toronto at 2:13 p.m. local time (34 minutes behind schedule, according to Flight Aware). The aircraft is a Bombardier CRJ-900 and has between 70 and 76 seats.

Around 3:00 p.m., the airport confirmed that emergency crew members were on the scene, issuing the following statement on social media:

“Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for.”

Just before the crash, Pearson Airport’s social media team posted a photo of the massive airfield cleanup underway after Toronto was hit by its biggest snowstorm of the season. Over 100 flights were cancelled as a result of last week’s storm.

“Our crews worked all weekend to keep the roughly 5 million square metres of airfield clear of snow to keep planes arriving and departing safely,” the post read.

This is a developing story. Check back for more details.
