Abu Dhabi and Dubai Will Be Connected By A Brand-New High-Speed Train, Canada Reviews

17 June 20252 Mins Read

High speed train services are in development all over the planet right now, from Europe to North Africa and East Asia – and now, there’s set to be an innovative new service connecting two major cities in the Middle East.

At an official ceremony in the Al Faya Depot in Abu Dhabi, a brand-new high-speed service between the Emirati capital and Dubai was announced, thanks to a project being led by Etihad Rail.

Abu Dhabi is already one of the best cities in the world for public transport, and this new passenger service is set to vastly improve connectivity between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The train is set to reach impressive speeds of 350km/h, slashing journey times between the two hubs to just 30 minutes, which will make life a whole lot more pleasant for commuters and tourists.

The project is part of the UAE’s plan to achieve its Net Zero 2025 strategy. According to an official press release, there are also hopes that the development will bolster the UAE’s competitiveness internationally when it comes to sustainable transport.

It’ll also help boost business growth, with one projection suggesting it’ll improve the country’s GDP by a staggering AED145 billion over the next five decades. One-hundred and forty-five billion.

This high-speed service isn’t the only new piece of infrastructure planned. The UAE’s first passenger train fleet, which will eventually ferry people around at up to 200 km/h, was also presented at the ceremony, as were the country’s first four passenger rail stations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah, which have been designed to integrate with metro and bus services.

Keep an eye on this page for more information about when these exciting new services could be launching.
