10-day festival to bring local art, live music, & craft beer to historic Vancouver district

17 June 20253 Mins Read

It’s more important than ever to support local, and Vancouver’s art scene has taken a hit with the unfortunate end of the beloved Vancouver Mural Festival. The good news is that there’s another esteemed local arts and culture festival set to bring together local artists, makers, and art lovers this summer: the Eastside Arts Festival.

Now in its fifth year, the multidisciplinary arts festival takes place at various Eastside Arts District (EAD) studios, breweries, and performance venues in East Vancouver, undeniably one of the city’s most artistic neighbourhoods.

From Friday, July 18, to Sunday, July 27, 2025, the annual celebration will host the largest number of art-making workshops in festival history, in addition to both ticketed and free live performances, historic walking tours, and free art activities for all ages and abilities.

Hogan’s Alley Society, Heritage Vancouver Society, and the 360 Riot Walk will each host their own art and history walking tours through culturally significant neighbourhoods, which makes for a great opportunity to learn more about the city.

The festival will also bring back its popular free event at MacLean Park on July 26, 2025, which will feature live music, handmade art and goods from Eastside artists, art activities, food trucks, and a beer garden.

According to the festival, the music lineup includes performances by Janky Bungag, Twin River, ReViberators, and Madelyn Read.

Another exciting opportunity to discover new local artists and sway to some great music is a series of concerts at The Rickshaw, which will include a mix of up-and-coming indie rock and pop artists such as Young Friend, Babe Corner, worrywart, Kylie V, and Drew Tarves.

As for food and drink, the festival is introducing a new Eastside Arts Society Beer Passport that allows festival-goers to enjoy a beer at four participating Eastside breweries. They don’t call it Yeast Van for nothing!

Those who purchase both passport variations can enjoy brews at all eight local breweries, with all proceeds going towards supporting artist programs in the neighbourhood.

Art workshops are $35, walking tours are $20, and ticketed performances range from $20 to $60.

Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available.

When: Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 27, 2025
Time: Varies per event
Where: Various Eastside Arts District (EAD) studios, breweries, and performance venues
Cost: Free and ticketed events
