Toronto’s weather is about to get scorching and here’s when it’ll feel like 43 C, Life in canada

20 June 20252 Mins Read

Toronto’s weather is set to take a significant turn this weekend and into early next week as the city prepares for a major heat wave.

After a round of thunderstorms rolls through southern Ontario on Friday and Saturday, the city will be plunged into full-on summer mode starting Sunday, with a blast of intense heat and humidity that could last for days.

The Weather Network expects temperatures to climb into the low to mid-30s, but thanks to the humidity, they could feel closer to 43 C.

Monday is shaping up to be the hottest day, with forecasts suggesting Toronto Pearson Airport could hit 35 C. That would rank among the hottest June days in the city’s recorded history.

The Weather Network says if the city experiences three days in a row above 33 C, it will be the first time this has happened in June in over a decade.

And don’t expect much relief at night — overnight lows could stay stuck in the mid-20s, making it hard for homes without air conditioning to cool down.

Before the heat rolls in, scattered storms will sweep across the region on Friday and Saturday, bringing heavy downpours and gusty winds to parts of southern Ontario. But once they pass, the genuine concern becomes the extreme and sustained heat.

While it’s great to have warm weather, stay safe out there. Environment Canada is urging Torontonians to ensure that they’re well hydrated and monitoring symptoms for heat illness. Avoid being outdoors during peak temps and remain in a cool, shaded area. Also, be mindful of what time of the day you bring your pet for a walk.

Whether or not records fall, this is shaping up to be one of the hottest starts to summer Toronto has seen in years — and it’s only June.

Stay safe out there, Torontonians!
