Calgary consignment stores where hidden gems won’t break the bank

23 June 20253 Mins Read

We love a good thrift find here in Calgary, and it’s even better when we can save some serious cash in the process. A total win-win!

So grab those reusable bags and start the car, because we’ve created our own roundup of some of our favourite thrift stores around Calgary you should be shopping at.

Everyone knows the Value Village name, not only thrifters. We definitely recommend setting aside at least an hour (if not more) to browse through the rows of beautiful bargains, and especially checking out the new Value Village Boutique store. It’s also a great spot to jump ahead of the rush and get your Stampede outfits in order well in advance!

Where: Various stores across Calgary

The Goodwill Bins store probably offers the best deals on this whole list. Rummage through piles of clothes in the giant bins lined throughout the warehouse, where prices are based on weight. With super cheap rates, you’ll want to come prepared with a big bag (or two).

Where: There are six locations across Calgary; you can find each location here

The Peacock Boutique has three locations in some of Calgary’s trendiest neighbourhoods: Kensington, Inglewood, and the Beltline. It’s a great place to consign your summer clothes and make room for a new fall wardrobe!

Where: Locations in Kensington, Inglewood and the Beltline

Plato’s Closet is a popular destination for thrifty shoppers, offering great deals and a vast selection of clothes and accessories. The selection is wide and plentiful for both women and men, especially if you’re looking to add to your accessory collection. We’ve found a nice pair of jeans and shoes here before, once or twice.

Where: There are three locations in Calgary, in the southwest, northeast and northwest

If you are on the hunt for a steal of a deal, this is the place for you. Staff regularly posts some of the coolest finds on the store’s Instagram page, and you can also shop online. Some of the bigger-ticket items have pre-set prices, but most in-store items are eligible for regular promotions, so be sure to pop in often to find deals!

Where: 214 62nd Ave. SE

Good Neighbour is a perfect name for this pay-what-you-can spot serving the Calgary community. Money from store sales is used to purchase food for underserved Calgarians.

Where: 131 7th Ave. SW

Nestled on the main drag in Inglewood, Imagine Vintage Wear is the perfect place to turn to if you are looking for more retro looks. It specializes in pieces from the 1940s right to the 2000s, with a focus on ladies’ vintage and newer clothing items, as well as a small section of menswear. It also features an item exclusive to Calgary: the Cherry Velvet Retro-style dresses.

Where: 1325 9th Ave. SE
