July 1 is just around the corner, and there will be plenty of wonderful things to see and do. From live music to food trucks, there will be a little something for everyone, but by far, one of the most colourful events in Calgary will be the Canada Day fireworks.
Luckily, for those who would prefer to avoid the crowds in the evening, there are several places where you can enjoy one of the year’s most explosive displays.
Where to watch
This year, like so many before it, the Canada Day fireworks in Calgary will be launched from Stampede Park, which will be closed to the public.
Instead, the Confluence Historic Site and Parkland (formerly Fort Calgary) will be the best place to enjoy the show, but if you would like more options, here are a few other destinations where you can set up a lawn chair and take in the glittering reds, pinks, blues, and whites.
Tom Campbell Hill
From sunsets to fireworks displays, Tom Campbell Hill is a fantastic place to enjoy most of Calgary’s fireworks displays. With benches and a good view of the city skyline, you can’t go wrong!
Where: 25 St. George’s Dr. NE, Calgary
Scotsman’s Hill
Scotsman’s Hill is one of the most popular spots in the city and for good reason. Here, not only can you see the entire city skyline, but you can also watch the fireworks.
Please note that this is a residential area, so you’ll have to park elsewhere in order to accommodate residents. We’d also recommend being quiet and respectful.
Where: Salisbury Street and 17th Avenue SE, Calgary
Nosehill Park
Nosehill Park is another pretty decent place to catch a glimpse of the show, but we’d recommend bringing bug spray and wearing comfortable shoes to find the best spot. Take in the fresh air, look around and enjoy!
Where: 6465 14th St. NW, Calgary
When: Tuesday, July 1, 2025
Time: 11 p.m.
