A Smeg Canadian flagship store and cafe is coming to Toronto

26 June 20252 Mins Read

Missing out on a summer in Europe this year? Don’t fret, because Toronto is about to get a stylish flair of Italy.

Italian appliance brand SMEG, known for its retro-inspired kitchen equipment, is opening its first Canadian showroom in the middle of the posh Yorkville neighbourhood.

Located at 2 Bloor Street West, the new showroom will be situated amongst other high-brand retailers in a 2,900-square-foot store at the east edge of the strip known as the “Mink Mile.”

First announced in 2024, this flagship store won’t be like any other, though. The space will include a full range of SMEG products available for purchase, plus an in-store cafe on the main floor of the showroom where shoppers can sip on artisanal beverages.

With the in-store cafe being the first of its kind globally, it’s sure to offer a taste of Italian culture and hospitality that sets the standard for future SMEG showrooms.

“We are thrilled to bring the first SMEG showroom to Canada, creating a space where design, innovation and Italian craftsmanship come to life,” said Gisela Mussen, General Manager of SMEG Canada, in a Wednesday press release.

“This showroom marks a milestone for our expansion in Canada, and we look forward to connecting with the local community through curated experiences that celebrate our passion for innovation and quality. Yorkville’s vibrant and sophisticated atmosphere makes it the perfect home for our first Canadian showroom.”

The brand has previously collaborated with notable names such as Dolce & Gabbana, OVO, and Disney, in addition to world-class architects.

SMEG will open its showroom on an as-yet-unannounced date this summer and plans to expand further in Canada, with a showroom in Vancouver following in the near future.
