Here we go, Edmonton! It’s the week of Canada Day festivities, the Ponoka Stampede, and several exciting games and musicals that you won’t want to miss. Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Edmonton this week (June 30-July 4).

Yeehaw! The Ponoka Stampede has returned. This week, hit the midway, enjoy live music, and catch the rodeo with friends, family, or a special someone.

Cheer on The Stingers as they slam dunk their way to a win against the Montreal Alliance this Canada Day at the Edmonton EXPO Centre.

Cost: $23+

The Timms Centre for the Arts is hosting the charming Broadway musical of Amélie, the story of a young woman who improvises small but surprising acts of kindness that bring about joy and chaos.

At 7 a.m. on Canada Day, the Alberta Legislature Grounds will host a big breakfast featuring free pancakes, followed by the Canada Day Road Race, a citizenship ceremony, fun in the family zone, and live performances!

This Canada Day, enjoy an explosive show high above the Edmonton River Valley. For a fantastic view, head to Queen Elizabeth Park and Hill, River Valley Road Trail, Victoria Park, or Ezio Faraone Park.

The Edmonton Riverhawks are back at the RE/MAX Field this Wednesday, July 2, 2025, for a game against the Port Angeles Lefties, and the evening will include more than just baseball. Visitors can check out speed dating in the Alley Kat Party Pen, a caricaturist, and meet two iconic mascots.
