Marvel Rivals season 3 reveal headlined by Phoenix, Blade

1 July 20252 Mins Read

Marvel Rivals is already heading into its third season and developer NetEase has released a new trailer to commemorate the update, set to release on July 11.

The teaser shows features Knull sitting atop a throne in Klyntar, plotting on how to spread darkness via symbiotes across the cosmos. Knull then makes Hela his “Queen in Black,” hellbent on causing destruction in the wake of the Timestream Entanglement. Phoenix makes her Marvel Rivals debut, attempting to eliminate Klyntar from existence, but is quickly subdued by Hela. Players are treated to Blade finally released from his slumber and throwing hands with Hela, teaming up with Phoenix to take down the Queen in Black.

As the action unfolds, fans get a glimpse at Blade wielding a fire sword and a deadly vampiric transformation — both of which could be hints at Eric Brooks’ in-game core gameplay.

Furthermore, the official key art for the new season shows off new Phoenix-imbued costumes for Wolverine and Magik. Jeff, on the other hand, has a symbiote skin and somehow remains the cutest character in the game.

Before the season three reveal, Marvel Games revealed a new symbiote skin for Captain America, called Captain Klyntar, which debuted back in 2017’s Edge of Venomverse #1; while Spider-Man received an adaptation of his Future Foundation costume in both white and Black options, which first appeared in FF #1 from 2010. Marvel Games is set to release Cap and Spidey’s new duds on July 4.

Marvel Rivals Season 3, dubbed The Abyss Awakens, begins on July 11 across PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
