Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened Park Hyatt Johannesburg, a 31-room hotel located in the Rosebank district.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Park Hyatt Johannesburg, marking the brand’s third location in Africa. The hotel is situated in the Rosebank district, an area known for its cultural and urban activities. The property features 31 guestrooms and suites, each designed to provide natural light and views of the surrounding gardens.

The building that houses Park Hyatt Johannesburg was originally constructed in the 1930s as a colonial mansion. It has been restored to preserve its original architectural features, such as arches, high ceilings, and verandahs. The hotel is centered around an open-air courtyard that includes a jacaranda tree, gardens, and a heated outdoor pool.

The hotel offers a locally curated art and design program, with each floor featuring themes inspired by the region’s landscapes and history. Public spaces display local artwork, and the interiors include elements such as Ndebele-patterned throws and South African artwork.

Dining options at the hotel include Room 32, a restaurant that focuses on locally sourced ingredients and live-fire cooking. The Lounge offers a selection of cocktails, wines, and cigars, with a wine list that highlights South Africa’s wine regions.

Park Hyatt Johannesburg plans to open a spa soon, which will offer treatments featuring local ingredients such as rooibos and marula oil. The hotel also includes a fitness center and a heated outdoor pool.

For events, the hotel offers a space that can accommodate up to 60 guests, making it suitable for meetings and small gatherings. The hotel is located near cultural attractions, galleries, and dining establishments in Johannesburg.
