Limelight Hotels will open its first East Coast property in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2028, featuring a hotel and residential units.

Aspen One has announced plans to open a Limelight Hotels property in Charleston, South Carolina, marking the brand’s first location on the East Coast. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the development will include a hotel and branded residences situated at 306 King Street and 86 Society Street in Charleston’s historic district.

The Limelight Charleston will feature 50 hotel rooms and 16 private residences. The mixed-use project will include amenities such as a restaurant, bar, rooftop pool and dining area, meeting spaces, and a parking garage. The property will also incorporate a “living room” area, designed as a community gathering space.

This project is being developed in partnership with Category Company. Limelight Charleston will become the seventh location in the Limelight Hotels portfolio, joining existing properties in Aspen, Snowmass, Denver, and Ketchum. Additional locations in Boulder, Colorado, and Mammoth, California, are set to open later this year.

The expansion to Charleston is part of Limelight Hotels’ strategy to grow in high-demand leisure markets. The company has increased its presence from three locations in early 2023 to seven open or in-development sites.
