Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert penned a heartfelt tribute for Julian McMahon, her Nip/Tuck costar, in the wake of his death.
On Saturday, July 5, the former child actress, 61, took to Instagram with a post dedicated to McMahon., who died at 56 on July 2 at his home in Clearwater, Fla., after a private battle with cancer.

“So, so sad to hear that Julian has passed,” Gilbert wrote in her update. “I had such a wonderful time working with him.”
In 2006, Gilbert portrayed a patient named Shari Noble who needed nipple reconstruction after a dog bite.
“Truth be told, I was a HUGE fan of NipTuck,” the actress added. “So when I got the role, which I auditioned for btw, I was so excited!”
She continued of her Season 4 guest star appearance in the medical drama, “My first day, I was so nervous. Like, shaking nervous, and Julian put me at ease immediately. He was warm, funny, charming and yes, dreamy.”
To conclude her post, Gilbert shared, “My thoughts are with his beloved family today as well as all those who knew and loved him. May flights of angels sing there to thy rest.”

In the comments, Gilbert’s followers reacted to her tribute and shared their condolences.
