Pick your own berries at an 80-acre Ontario fruit farm

7 July 20252 Mins Read

It’s about to be a very berry summer right here in Ontario, and now is the time to enjoy the season’s bounty. Berries are in season, and if you’re in the mood for some that you can’t find at your local supermarket, check out Bayfield Berry Farm.

Bayfield Berry Farm, located in Bayfield, Ont. — a little under two hours from Toronto — is a sustainable farm that boasts 27 acres of fruits and berries available to pick. Bayfield’s orchards include fan favourites like raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and cherries, but also more unique varieties like haskap, elderberries, gooseberries, and aronia berries, plus sea buckthorn, currants, and peaches.

As for the summer of 2025, the u-pick season is well underway with raspberries and strawberries ending in July, Saskatoon berries available in July, and blueberries ready for July and August. Peaches are often available for PYO, while red currants will also soon be available for purchase, and cherries are ripe and ready right now!

Besides Bayfield’s u-pick experiences, you can also dive into the world of local fruit wines and drinks. As the first distillery and fruit cidery in Huron County, Bayfield knows a thing or two about tasty beverages. From apple and maple schnapps and Saskatoon berry hard ciders to apple pie moonshine and gooseberry wine, there are many different blends to try with unique combos.

Check out Bayfield’s Farm Retail Market for an array of farm-fresh and artisanal products like jams and preserves, home-baked goods, fruit liquors, wine and spirits, plus Bayfield’s very own old-fashioned European-style schnapps.

Feeling hungry after your pick? Mosey on down to Bayfield’s tasting room for bistro classics, burgers, salads, pizza and wings too. The tasting room is also where you can sample some of Bayfield’s signature cocktails, like the Bayfield Daiquiri (made with strawberry schnapps) or the Bayfield Sunset. If you’re feeling really adventurous, why not go ahead and order a sample flight — your pick of  Bayfield’s hard ciders, wine cooler, fruit wines, and spirits.

Since the Ontario summer growing season is a fast one, it’s best to check out Bayfield’s socials to see what berries are available for picking!

A visit to Bayfield Berry Farm is sure to be berry-licious.
