A Toronto Maple Leafs player has just tied the knot with his longtime partner (PHOTOS), Life in canada

8 July 20252 Mins Read

As some Toronto Maple Leafs players spend their offseason recharging or fine-tuning their game, Nicholas Robertson’s summer has been anything but quiet — and not just because of hockey.

The 23-year-old forward just tied the knot with his longtime partner, Emma, announcing the news in a heartfelt Instagram post to his 34,000 followers.

His teammate Max Domi congratulated him in the replies, “Yessir! Congrats guys.”

“Same team, forever,” Robertson captioned the photo of the newlyweds holding hands — the only snap of the pair together on his Instagram page.

Robertson has typically kept his personal life out of the spotlight.

“Probably because of being in Toronto, I stay away from [social media],” he told The Athletic last September, revealing he’d proposed in May 2024. “I could post more stuff, but my life is kind of boring, and that’s how I like it.”

The Californian was selected by the Leafs in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft after a strong junior hockey career in the OHL with 55 goals and 31 assists in 46 games of the COVID-19-shortened 2019-20 season for Peterborough.

Last summer, Robertson signed a one-year, $875,000 contract with the Leafs. He finished the 2024-25 campaign with 15 goals, 7 assists, and 22 points through 69 games.

He also chipped in with a goal and an assist in three playoff games, as the Leafs bowed out to the eventual champions, the Florida Panthers.

Now a restricted free agent, Robertson’s next contract is up in the air, and so is his future with the Leafs.

According to Sportsnet, he’s one of 11 NHL players filing for salary arbitration this summer, as trade rumours continue to swirl around him.

Meanwhile, Toronto has been making its own moves. Captain John Tavares just inked a four-year, $17.52 million extension. And in a blockbuster shift, Mitch Marner — fresh off a 102-point season — was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights.

At the 2025 NHL Draft, the Leafs added six new prospects: Tinus Luc Koblar, Tyler Hopkins, William Belle, Harry Nansi, Rylan Fellinger, and Matthew Hlacar.
