International food festival for sipping and snacking coming to Toronto this month

9 July 20254 Mins Read

There’s a food festival coming to Toronto this month featuring some of the city’s hottest food and beverage vendors.

Back for its second year, which is expected to be even bigger and better than the first, Toronto’s premier “sip and snack” festival, Feastie, returns on July 19 for a full day featuring some of the hottest food and drinks the city has to offer.

Founded on the goal of highlighting businesses owned by members of marginalized and underrepresented communities, this year’s festival is set to feature over 40 different food and drink vendors spanning a swath of international cuisines.

From Jamaican Patties to French Toast to locally-crafted wines to homemade Thai iced tea, there’s only one thing guaranteed at Feastie: you won’t go hungry. To make extra sure of that, there’s a variety of food and beverage options on the docket priced at $10 or less, so there’s a feast in store regardless of your budget.

Although anything is possible when you believe in yourself, there are likely too many food vendors in the mix at Feastie to possibly try every single one, so we’ve rounded up some of our top picks for eats and drinks you need to try when you visit Feastie this July:

Blueberry Matcha Latte from Maker Matcha

This Toronto-based matcha vendor has already made quite the splash thanks to their appearances at markets and festivals across the city, and if you’ve been drooling over their Instagram, you’ll finally get your chance to try their creations, made with matcha imported straight from Japan.

Their blueberry matcha latte incorporates rich blueberry jam, a non-dairy milk of your choice and a dense, flavourful dose of matcha for a sweet-yet-fresh caffeine kick. For a more refreshing option, their Matcha Lemonade is also a seriously tasty option.

French Toast from Simpl Things

Chef Cody of Parkdale’s Simpl Things is in fine form at Feastie, serving up a selection of the Asian snack bar’s greatest hits, and, while the festival technically starts outside of brunch hours, there’s no wrong time to dive into the restaurant’s drool-worthy French Toast.

The dish features delightfully chewy milk bread, local maple syrup and a generous topping of blueberry compote. It’s rich, sweet, tart, buttery and totally worth clearing a second breakfast space in your stomach for.

Party Favour Orange from Paradise Grapevine

If you’ve been curious about dipping your toes into the exciting world of orange wine but haven’t quite gathered the courage yet, we won’t judge you: trying new things can be scary.

There’s perhaps no better gateway into skin-contact wines, though, than Paradise Grapevine’s Party Favour. The more marmalade-esque tendencies that can make orange wine so divisive are mild in this beverage, leaving behind an approachable juicy citrus and peach-forward flavour.

In Paradise Grapevine’s own words, it tastes like being “high in Cancun.” Who could say no?

Jerk Chicken Patty from Bashy

You may have seen Bashy’s “premium cocktail patties” gracing the shelves of luxury grocery stores like McEwan and Summerhill Market, but you can pick up singles from their stall at Feastie this month.

While they offer a host of classic flavours like Beef and more unique offerings like a Vegan Chickpea Curry patty, their Jerk Chicken patty is by far the must-try.

It’s not too spicy for those with sensitive palates, but it still packs a major punch when it comes to flavour, and it features sizeable chunks of chicken, rather than the standard ground-up mystery meat.

Khanom Chan from Bear Pung

While there are several vendors on the Feastie lineup serving sweet treats, including Good Behaviour and Holy Cannoli, this Thai dessert pop-up is serving some truly unique options you’ll love.

Their Khanom Chan, a steamed coconut layer cake, is a must-try for the adventurous. With a gummy-like texture and undeniable curbside appeal, the cakes are almost too pretty to eat, but the strong coconut flavour and satisfying texture will override any preservation efforts pretty quickly.

Feastie takes place from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Henderson Brewing Co., 128a Sterling Road. Tickets are $17.31 each and are available online.
