Fan-Favorite Beer Collab Makes Limited Return in Just a Few Weeks

14 July 20253 Mins Read

It’s been a big year for limited-edition brews, and somehow, the fun has only begun to boil as we inch closer to the seasonal celebrations like International Beer Day and Oktoberfest.

But before anyone gets to celebrate the start of spooky season with a festive pour of pumpkin ale, a fan-favorite lager is making a big comeback with a new name–but only for a limited time.

Harpoon’s Harvest Lager, a 5 percent ABV brew made in collaboration with apparel brand L.L.Bean, is returning for the 2025 season simply as the Harpoon x L.L.Bean Lager. Though it might seem like a random collaboration at first, the two brands are both icons on the East Coast in their own right, so it actually makes a lot of sense (plus the fans seem to really enjoy it).

“After seeing how much people connected with this beer last fall, we knew we had to bring it back,” Dan Kenary, CEO and co-founder of Harpoon, said in a statement. “Made with Maine-grown malt, the lager is the perfect embodiment of the spirit of New England craftsmanship and the values and heritage shared by our two brands.”

Harpoon x L.L.Bean Lager returns for a limited time beginning in August.

“This partnership presents a new opportunity for us to encourage folks to ‘Gather Friends, Get Outdoors,’” added Nick Wilkoff, chief marketing officer at L.L.Bean. “And grab a great beer from our friends at Harpoon.”

Those looking to try it can find it in four-packs of 16-ounce cans at select national retailers like Target and Walmart, and some regional stores, including Kappy’s, Publix, Stop & Stop, Shop N’ Save, and Wegmans (to name a few), beginning on Friday, August 1, for as long as supplies last.

The limited-edition brew will also be available at all three Harpoon Brewery locations (Boston, Mass.; Manchester, N.H.; Windsor, V.T.), as well as at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the Maine Savings Amphitheatre, and at various beer outlets across New England as well as on draft at select bars and restaurants. To find it near you, try the Harpoon Brewery online beer locator.

Fans who will be in the Boston area the first weekend of August are invited to check out the outdoor release party held at the Harpoon Brewery in the Seaport from 4 – 8 p.m. Parade is told there will be beer sampling, food, live music, games, pickleball, exclusive giveaways and a special visit from L.L.Bean’s iconic Bootmobile.
