Here’s what $1,900 in rent gets you in 11 Toronto neighbourhoods and the range is wild, Life in canada

16 July 20257 Mins Read

The cost of renting in Toronto is a constant topic of discussion and for good reason, as living in Canada’s largest city doesn’t come cheap!

However, there are still listings available that come in under the city’s average, offering a more budget-friendly way to live in some of Toronto’s most popular neighbourhoods.

According to liv.rent’s June 2025 data, furnished one-bedroom apartments in Toronto now cost $1,970 per month on average, while unfurnished options cost $2,078.

With that in mind, we looked into what $1,900 (or less) in monthly rent can get you across a variety of Toronto neighbourhoods, including the Distillery District, St. Lawrence, The Beaches, Rosedale-Moore Park, the Harbourfront, Yorkville, The Annex, Little Portugal, Fort York, Don Mills and Victoria Village, and West Queen West.

It’s a revealing snapshot of how far your rent dollars can go across the city right now — and how big the variation can actually be!
