Feeling ready to hang up those cowboy boots, Calgary? (Until we do it all again next year, of course!)

The weekend after the Calgary Stampede might see us all a little bleary-eyed and sleep deprived, but there are still plenty of things to enjoy in and around the city. Whether you’re looking to keep the party going or want to unwind with some low-stimulus fun, here’s our roundup of top things to do this July 18 to 20.

Date night just got a whole lot better. Get ready for chaos, comedy and claws with a screening of Deadpool vs. Wolverine at Delta Hotel’s magical Stargazer Rooftop Patio. Bed seating has already filled up, but you can still secure a regular seat if you act quickly.

When: Friday, July 18, 2025
Where: 209 4th Ave. SE, Calgary
Time: 9 p.m. (movie starts at sunset)
Cost: $15

Roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty with Nature Calgary. They’ll show you how to identify and remove invasive plants from local parks and green spaces during this interactive plant walk at St. Patrick’s Island.

When: Friday, July 18, 2025
Where: 656 Confluence Way SE, Calgary
Time: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Cost: $6.50

A curated farmers’ market with an equal selection of growers, artisans, and creatives. Explore fresh, locally grown produce, handcrafted goods and unique treasures, all while being serenaded with live music from the Sarina Builds stage.

Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cost: Free

This weekend’s no-cover Ship Show will host local rock band Sunstrokes for an album release party. Enjoy a family-friendly afternoon of live music, cheers with friends and the best deep-fried pickles in town.

Time: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m..

If you haven’t been to a Modern Love patio party yet, this is one you won’t want to miss. With live DJs spinning the hottest hip-hop, Afrobeats, and Amapiano tunes, you can dance the day away with a tasty drink in tow. Only a few tickets left!

Join the Natanjali Dance Festival of Canada for a celebration of Indian classical dance. Immerse yourself in the beauty and grace of traditional dancers while experiencing the rich cultural heritage of India.

Put your best blooms forward for consideration in the 52nd Calgary Annual Rose Show. Or spend the entire afternoon sniffing fragrant roses for some low-stress solitude. Your pick.

If you’ve been melting for an ice cream fix, here’s your chance to earn your fill. Celebrate National Ice Cream Day at the 4th annual Scoop Slam hosted by Foothills Creamery.

Got some aches and pains after Stampede season? Unwind in the park with this free outdoor event that’s open to yogis of all ages.

Cost: Pay what you can – suggested $20

Not the stove, the art form: pyrography is an entire art practice in and of itself! Learn a new skill and bring your creative creations to life at this hands-on wood-burning workshop hosted by cSPACE.
