“Sad to hear about the cancellation of @colbertlateshow” Heughan, 45, wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday, July 19. He also shared a set of photos from his visit on the late-night show back in 2020.
The Scottish actor went on to note that Colbert’s program was “One of the first late night talk shows I was lucky to be invited on,” while recalling, “Stephen was welcoming, funny and kind enough to feature my first @sassenachspirits whisky release.”
Heughan then shared a pointed message for the network, writing, “You’re making a mistake @cbstv.”
“Even if he did MIX IT WITH FRESCO!!!? 😂🙌 🥃” he then quipped, again referring to the 2020 appearance, when Colbert shocked Heughan by mixing his glass of whiskey with a splash of the grapefruit flavored-soda known as Fresca.
