Carnival Cruise Line has inaugurated Celebration Key, a newly developed exclusive destination on Grand Bahama, marking a significant investment of $600 million. The Carnival Vista made the first official visit to the site, bringing nearly 5,000 guests to the new port.
Celebration Key features several attractions, including the Suncastle, a 10-story structure with two racing waterslides, and Lokono Cove, a shopping village. The destination encompasses five distinct areas: Paradise Plaza, Starfish Lagoon, Calypso Lagoon, Pearl Cove Beach Club, and Lokono Cove. These areas offer a range of amenities, including freshwater lagoons, sports courts, dining venues, and retail spaces.
Paradise Plaza serves as the central hub, welcoming guests with live music. Starfish Lagoon is designed for families, featuring a large freshwater lagoon and a variety of recreational options. Calypso Lagoon caters to adults with a swim-up bar and DJ Island. Pearl Cove Beach Club offers an adults-only retreat with an infinity pool and upscale dining options. Lokono Cove provides shopping opportunities with a focus on local Bahamian culture.
The destination features over 30 food and beverage venues, live entertainment, and a range of recreational activities. The adjacent cruise pier can accommodate two of Carnival’s largest ships, with plans for an extension to host additional vessels.
Celebration Key is expected to initially attract more than two million visitors annually, with projections indicating a doubling by 2028. The development is anticipated to create hundreds of long-term jobs and make a significant contribution to the local economy of Grand Bahama.
