Black Sabbath Breaks Silence on Ozzy Osbourne's Death Weeks After Final Show

22 July 20252 Mins Read

The official Instagram account for Black Sabbath reacted to Ozzy Osbourne’s death just two weeks after the band performed its final concert.

“Ozzy Forever,” the account wrote alongside a photo of the rock legend onstage at a show.

Shortly after the band paid tribute to Osbourne, several fans took to the comments section to express their sadness over his passing. “WE LOVE YOU FOREVER,” one person wrote, and another chimed in, “RIP Prince of darkness.”

“Ozzy lived intensely and knew how to say goodbye beautifully. Now he feels the love as he flies endlessly through space. RIP Ozzy, we love you,” a third person wrote. Another fan commented, “Love you forever, Oz! Thank you!”

Osbourne’s family confirmed that he died at the age of 76 on Tuesday, July 22. “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love,” the Osbourne family’s statement read in an X post on the same day as his passing. “We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

While his cause of death has not yet been revealed, Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019.

Just more than two weeks before his death, Osbourne joined his Black Sabbath bandmates to perform their final show together titled “Back to the Beginning” with original members Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward.

The show was held at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, on July 5. Not only was the event Osbourne’s final concert, but it also marked the first time the original band members performed together since 2005.

The concert clearly meant a lot to Osbourne, as he recalled the show in his final Instagram post on Monday, July 21. Osbourne did not share a caption, though he uploaded a snapshot that featured a black and white photo of the band members with text on the bottom that read, “The Final Show.”
