People Hate Pizza Hut's $2 Personal Pan Pizza

24 July 20252 Mins Read

Food chains keep trying to one-up each other when it comes to budget offerings this summer. Applebee’s added new items to its 2 for $25 menu. Planet Hollywood is offering items at their 1991 prices to win over guests with nostalgia.

Earlier this month, Pizza Hut made a similar move by reintroducing another retro offer: Personal Pan Pizzas for just $2 on Tuesdays. It was originally only supposed to be through July, but the promo proved so popular Pizza Hut decided to keep it going.

The famed red-roofed pizza chain confirmed to USA Today that the deal will go on past its original July end date. However, it didn’t specify exactly how long the promotion would continue.

“The response has been nothing short of incredible and we are even selling out of Personal Pan Pizzas at thousands of restaurants across the country,” a Hut exec told the paper. “Our goal is to give guests more of what they love and this offering has proven to do just that.”

While people seem to be buying the discounted mini-pies, the internet is far less impressed.

“This is easily the worst pizza I’ve ever had in my life,” one Instagram food influencer said, giving it a 2.5 out of 10. A food YouTuber noted that his pizza “could’ve been cooked a little more.” He added, “Maybe that’s why it was only $2.”

Reddit was even harsher. “Pizza Hut finally realized no one’s buying their overpriced mid quality pizzas so they were forced to bring down the prices,” someone wrote. Another person sarcastically commented, “Wow, lower priced pizza and it sells well?! Who’d have thought pizza hut???”

One Redditor, however, had an optimistic outlook. “Maybe if more people responded to price and quality correctly, more companies would adjust prices and offerings,” they opined. “Instead, people keep happily paying sit down restaurant priced for dog s–t fast food and nothing changes.”
