Feast Layer Banandium Gem (bananas) locations in Donkey Kong Bananza

25 July 202519 Mins Read

In Donkey Kong Bananza, the 14th layer you’ll go to is the food-filled Feast Layer, an amusement park themed around delicious and greasy food. This place is run by lion-shaped Fractones and has rivers of hot oil, salty sands, and… green nasty muck hanging from the walls? Oh, and a ton of Banandium Gems.

Below, we list where to find all of the Banandium Gems in the Feast Layer we’ve found so far in Donkey Kong Bananza. We’re still updating this guide with more golden bananas as we find them.

Sublayer 1400 Banandium Gems

We’ve found 56 Banandium Gems in Sublayer 1400 in the Feast Layer.

This banana is skipped on the collection screen, implying that it is locked behind beating the main story of the game. We’ll update this guide when we can find and confirm this banana’s location.

#2: A Slime-Slathered Treat

You find this banana on the wall behind the warp gong. You need to throw salt at the slime to clear it before breaking the banana.

#3: Wrecked by Freestyle Bananzas

DK stands outside the door of an Ancient Ruins near the other shops on the Feast Layer in Donkey Kong Bananza.

From the Mane Gate Market tuning fork, while facing the mane gate, go left to find the entrance to the Feast Layer Challenge Course 1. You receive this banana after completing the challenge in any time.

#4: Fast-Paced Freestyle Bananzas

Complete the challenge with 20 seconds or more remaining on the timer to get this banana.

If you’d like to make the challenge a little easier, transform into your elephant form and do not cross the starting line. Instead, suck up the boom rock nearby and start chucking away! You can clear around 50% of the course before even starting, saving you a bit of time.

#5: Lost and Found under the Building

Kong DK senses a banana under a platform with a blue balloon on it in Donkey Kong Bananza.

When you finish the challenge course, there is a platform with a balloon that you can punch to raise the platform. Do so and jump into the opening beneath it to find this banana.

#6: Battle: Bouncy Beatings

DK stands near a taped-up entrance to a combat challenge under a town in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

You receive this banana by completing the Feast Layer Battle Challenge 1. The entrance is located on the level below the Mana Gate Market tuning fork. To find it, starting from the tuning fork, go back the way you came into the market. When you get to the bridge, jump down from it to access the underground stockroom. You find the challenge at the first entrance to the right.

#7: Snacking from the Stockroom

DK carries a lump of salt towards a door clogged up with muck in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Still under the Mana Gate Market where you found the previous banana, go to the next structure on the right side of the area. There’s much blocking its entrance, so grab a chunk of salt from the ground, and remove the slime to find this Banandium Gem.

#8: A Banana among Friends

DK oversees a few monkeys looking at a banana covered in gold on a cliffside in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Facing the warp gong in Mana Gate Market, climb the wall behind it and walk to the left until you can see a small portion a little bit lower on the other side of the wall. Jump there to find this banana.

#9: Battle: Wallopoid Warfare

DK approaches a combat challenge against a golden brick wall in Donkey Kong Bananza.

While facing the Fried Pride Plaza tuning fork and the burger and fries bridge across from it, turn to your left until you see the taped up battle challenge course door. Completing it will reward you with this banana.

#10: A Soda-Infused Banana

DK gets ready to dive into a water tower with a banana at the bottom of it in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

When facing the Fried Pride Plaza tuning fork, turn around and go to the tall soda tank to your left. Climb it all the way to the top where you can enter and find the banana. Use Dive Punches to destroy the banana.

You find the Growtone beside the soda tank where you found the previous banana in the Fried Pride Plaza. By giving it gold to grow its first arm, you receive this Banandium Gem.

#12: The Hungry Feast Growtone

Keep giving gold to the Growtone and when the second arm appears, you will get the this banana.

#13: The Sated Feast Growtone

After spending 5,000 total gold with the Growtone, you will get this final banana.

#14: A Secret Salty Snack

Starting at the Fried Pride Plaza tuning fork, go left in the direction of the battle challenge course you’d completed to obtain the #9 banana in this layer. This time, climb the wall and, on the other side, you will see a platform with some salt. Remove the salt to find this banana.

Rather than dropping down the hole at the top of the Grater-Go-Round, climb up the wall to find a banana.

#19: Round the Grater-Go-Round!

DK finds a bunch of bananas in the middle of the Grater-Go-Round in Donkey Kong Bananza.

This is a story-based banana, and you’ll get it after smashing the burger button inside the Grater-Go-Round.

#20: Through the Mauling Walls

DK approaches a challenge course entrance behind two monkeys in Donkey Kong Bananza.

You find this banana inside the Feast Layer Challenge Course 2, which is right beside the Kingly Swings tuning fork. Survive the cheesy path and you will arrive at this banana’s location.

DK finds an opening in the wall and climbs around the corner to find another suspicious dirt opening in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

This banana is located in a hidden room in the middle of the course. After you completed the first wall with sand and wallopoids, turn right and break the sand wall between two more wallopoids to find a passage. Break the red platform to access the level below. Now, climb the wall and go right to find a single wallopoid. Bait it so it will open and you will find this banana behind it.

#22: Falling Mauling Walls

Find this banana at the end of the course.

#23: Up High in a Sky Container

DK prepares to throw a chunk of salt into a goo-covered door that looks like a lion’s mouth in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

By using one of the two swinging platforms at the end of the Kingly Swings attraction, you can open a door filled with slime. There’s salt in one of the platforms for you to throw at the slime. Once the path is clear, you can go grab this banana.

#24: Swinging’ through Kingly Swings!

A Banandium Gem covered in gold at the top of the Kingly Swings in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

You’ll get this story banana at the top of the Kingly Swings, right next to where the burger button is.

#25: Soda-Spout Clean Out

DK prepares to throw a chunk of salt at a muck-plugged drain pipe in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

From the Kingly Swings tuning fork, go right and head to the large soda tank in the area. Grab a chunk of sand and go along the side of the tank until you find a blocked faucet by much. Use the sand to remove the much, which will drain the soda from the tank. Now you can go inside of it to find this banana.

#26: Battle: Muck on Parade

DK approaches a combat challenge course in a grass semicircle next to a wall in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Johnny Yu/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

On the path below the swings, you’ll find a Constructone beside a blocked battle challenge. Pay the Constructone 600 gold to remove the rubble and head inside to find a challenge resembling a carnival shooting gallery. To defeat the muckoids inside, pick up chunks of salt and throw it at them when they appear.

#27: Shifty Smash: Over the Oil Lake

DK approaches a shifty triangle challenge on a red metal bridge.

Graphic: Johnny Yu/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

If you’ve purchased the Swings Getaway, you can walk on through to find Smashintone in the area behind it. If not, you can walk around the corner to find a muck wall and throw salt at it. Continue down the hallway and break through the cracked cheese wall to find them.

Before you start the challenge, we recommend transforming into elephant form to save some time. After you start, suck up the farthest section of the platform and work your way back to the beginning to complete the challenge and receive a banana.

#28: Feast Smashin’ Stats

DK finds Smashintone, a Fractrone with several colored rocks on top of its head in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Interact with Smashintone after you’ve smashed 30,000 cubic meters of salt to get a banana.

DK approaches Quiztone, a Fractone with a bow tie and bowler cap, in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Johnny Yu/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

If you’ve purchased the Swings Getaway, you can walk on through to find Quiztone in the area behind it. If not, you can walk around the corner to find a muck wall and throw salt at it. Continue down the hallway and break through the cracked cheese wall to find them.

Interact with Quiztone and correctly answer all three of their questions to get the banana. If you’re having a hard time answering their questions, here are all of the answers:

  1. A giant speaker
  2. Lighting equipment
  3. A forest of nuggets

#30: Feast Fragmentone Recovery

Two arrows indicate where to go to find one fragment and two fragments beihnd the Fragmentone in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Johnny Yu/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

This Fragmentone can be found underneath the giant lion statue on Sublayer 1400.

The first fragment can be found inside the lion’s front left paw. Behind the Fragmentone, you’ll find a bridge that starts to sink as you walk on it. To counteract that, you’ll need to periodically jump to prevent the platform from completely submerging in the oil lake. Head over to the fragment and slowly bring them back while periodically jumping to get this banana.

#31: Feast Fragmentone Restoration

The other two fragments can be found in the lion’s front right paw. Cross the sinking bridge to the front right paw and break the red brick wall to find the two fragments. Similar to the other fragment, you’ll need to periodically jump as you cross the bridge to prevent it from sinking. Bring the two fragments back to the Fragmentone to receive this banana.

#32: Banana by a Greasy River

An arrow shows where to throw salt at a wall of muck in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Johnny Yu/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

Climb up the cheese wall next to the soda canister below the swings to find an entryway leading to a oil river. Hop onto a salt raft and grab a chunk. Throw it at the first muck wall on the left to find a hidden banana.

#33: Center of the Oil Stream

DK prepares to throw a chunk of salt at a muckoid in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Johnny Yu/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

On the same oil river used for Banandium Gem #32, continue to ride the salt raft around the river, but make sure to break the red wall or else you’ll fall into the river. Pick up a chunk of the salt raft and throw it at the muck wall to enter the voided cage. Release the seal and break the void contraption to devoid the entire area. Grab a chunk of salt and throw it at the middle of the muck wall to reveal the banana.

#34: Battle: Mine-Cart Muck

DK approaches a combat course along the side of a pink brick wall in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

You get this banana from completing the Feast Layer Battle Challenge 4. The entrance for this challenge is located behind the giant lion, next to its right hind leg in the Fried Pride Plaza.

#35: Fryin’ at Ferocious Fryhouse!

A bunch of bananas sits in the center of the Ferocious Fryhouse in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

You’ll get this story-based banana after defeating the new variation of the Max Mixer boss at the Ferocious Fryhouse.

1/4Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

Enter this hidden room via the lion’s mouth on the side of the cliff to find the hide-and-seek Fractone.

Two of the Fractones aren’t hidden super well, retaining their shapes on the edges of the room. One of the Fractones is “hidden” on a window. Dig under the grave to the right of the Fractone (if you’re facing the pedestal that will hold the Bananadium Gem) to find a salt Fractone that doesn’t count towards the four. Dig down in front of the mucked-up grave and then use a chunk of the salt Fractone to reveal the muck Fractone.

#37: Roarcoaster Rest Stop

DK approaches a Constructone in front of a blocked-off ruins entrance in Donkey Kong Bananza.
DK sees a banana on a platform with a minecart behind it.

To collect this banana, you need to enter the Feast Layer Challenge Course 3. To unlock this challenge, talk to the Constructone to the right of the Ferocious Fryhouse tuning fork while facing the purple gate. It will charge 600 to open the challenge.

Inside of it, you will find this banana in the middle of the course.

#38: Behind a Roaring Waterfall

A circle highlights a small arrow-shaped sign behind a waterfall in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

After collecting the first banana and starting the second half of the course, you will eventually find an arrow hidden behind a waterfall that you must hit to change the direction of the tracks and find the secret room with the banana.

Break open the wall to the right of the oil cruise gate to find a muck-blockage. Go back outside and grab a chunk off of the salt Fractone stand on top of the french fries in the oil and use that salt to clear the muck. After the water drains, leave the cave and go up to the pool outside to claim your banana.

An arrow points at some green muck plugging up a hallway in Donkey Kong Bananza.

As you float through the oil cruise, chuck a lump of salt on this muck-filled wall to get a banana behind the muck.

#42: The Duct Inspector’s Reward

DK stands on the ledge of a higher point, facing a bunch of air ducts in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

From the end of the oil cruise (where you press the burger button), turn around and use Ostrich Bananza to glide to the air ducts. Keep following the path, gliding from duct-to-duct until you find this banana.

#43: Floating on the Royal Oil Cruise!

A bunch of bananas sit covered in gold at the end of the Royal Oil Cruise in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

This is another story-based banana, though this one will be at the end of the oil cruise in front of the burger switch.

#44: The Salt’s Last Stop

An arrow tells DK to walk around the corner of a structure with a ladder on it in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

Before you climb up the ladder at the end of the salt cruise, turn right to find another path with a banana at the end of it.

#45: Eating the Lion’s Share

An arrow points into a big stone lion’s mouth in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

This banana is in the big stone lion’s mouth located outside of the Royal Oil Cruise.

#46: Shifty Smash: Huge Monument

DK and Pauline stand near a shifty triangle challenge in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

You can find this shifty triangle in front of the oil cruise, on the other side of the wall, either just from climbing up and around it or from crossing through the Refinery Getaway. You can use Snake Bananza to destroy the shifty Fractone shape that spawns by punching the lower part and charge jumping through it.

#47: Danger Doubling Back

A wallopoid falls down in front of DK and Pauline, revealing a purple void-covered banana in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

Approach where the path splits off slightly between the oil cruise and Fried Pride Plaza to find a wallopoid that opens a gate to a voided banana. Follow the void trail and then break the void device. You’ll need to backtrack to the banana while being careful of wallopoids that will now try to crush you.

#48: Battle: Labyrinth Lurkers

DK approaches the entrance to a combat challenge in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

While facing the Fried Pride Plaza tuning fork and the burger and fries bridge, take the path on the right and it will lead you directly to the battle challenge. Complete it and you’ll be awarded with this banana.

A circle highlights which arrow-shaped Fractone to follow (the left-pointing one) in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Ride the minecart to the left at the Grater-Go-Round Station and throw the chunk at the arrow to redirect the mine cart to the right. Get off on the To-Go Box Station with the elephant and melon. Transform into your elephant form and suck up salt on the ground to store a few salt chunks. Switch to your snake form and charge jump to the top level and break the red wall. Swap back to elephant and throw your salt chunks at the muck to get rid of it — revealing the banana at the end of the path.

#50: Shifty Smash: Out of the Box

DK approaches a shifty triangle challenge behind the giant lion statue in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

Activate this shifty triangle and then use Snake Bananza to charge jump on to the second floor of the platform. Break the shifty blocks to get this banana.

#51: Up through the Layer of Muck

An arrow points upwards through a ring of muck against a tower in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

This banana is on top of the Umbrella Straw Station (which has a tuning fork with the same name right under it). Use the nearby salt Fractone to throw chunks of salt to clear up the muck, and then use Snake Bananza to charge jump on top of the platform to get your banana.

#52: Folded into the Patty

DK’s Hand Slap sonar shows a banana buried within the beef patty of the giant burger in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

This banana is inside the bottom-most meat paddy of the giant burger. Find it using DK’s Hand Slap sonar and dig carefully around it. If you’ve already cleared up the void goop in the middle of the burger, you may accidentally end up digging straight into the center hole, which will send you to the next sublayer.

#53: Order Up at the Banana Burger!

A banana sticks out of the top bun of the giant burger near a void plug in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

This is a story-based banana that you’ll find at the top of the burger tower.

#54: Under the Lion’s Mane

An arrow points down showing where to jump down to below the Feral Wheel in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

Drop down on to the lower inner portion of the Feral Wheel to find this banana on a platform.

You’ll get this banana bunch when you drop on to the sublayer for the first time.

#59: Battle: Ducking the Muck Wall

DK approaches a combat challenge near the entrance to Sublayer 1401 in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

The entrance to this combat challenge is right next to where you drop into the sublayer. Dig under the layer of muck to cross through to where the salt is, and then throw salt at the muckoids to get your banana.

#65: Bouncing Tall off a Wall

DK winds up a charge jump in Snake Bananza on top of a grate in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Graphic: Julia Lee/Polygon | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon

To get this secret banana, you’ll need to make it to the end of the course. Stand on top of this grate where the walls pop out of, charge a jump, and release the jump when a particularly tall wall pops up. You should start to hang from the ceiling, which is where this banana is also hanging.

#66: Strike Back against the Walls

Use DK’s Hand Slap to launch this salt tower up towards the exit of this room, but turn around to see a banana, well, stuck in the muck. Throw chunks of salt at it until it’s safe to jump on to the platform to claim this banana.

This banana is skipped on the collection screen, implying that it is locked behind beating the main story of the game. We’ll update this guide when we can find and confirm this banana’s location.
