Gold in Donkey Kong Bananza is a valuable resource that can get you Banandium Gems and unlock alternate passage ways. Little gold nuggets will erupt from the ground as you hand slap your way through the layers, and you might even find large chunks as you dig. However, you can never have too much gold as, eventually, you’ll need more gold to pay Growtones, Constructones, Architectones, and, the worst of all, Securitones.
There are special gold challenges that give you a lot of money, but they’re few and far between, and you can only take part in these challenges once. So, if you’re running low on gold and want an effective method to become a rich monkey, don’t fret as we’ve got you covered.
Below, we explain how to farm gold in Donkey Kong Bananza.
How to farm gold in Donkey Kong Bananza
In Donkey Kong Bananza, there’s no better way to farm gold than using the Elephant Bananza and sucking up all of the gold from the Racing Layer’s trophy. (The Racing Layer is the 11th layer you’ll dive down to.) You can collect more than 3,000 gold per run and repeat the method as many times as you want.
To use this gold farming method, you’ll need to have completed the Racing Layer’s story in its entirety. Doing so will make a barrel appear at the top of the podium next to the Rumble Reception tuning fork, which will launch you to the top of the giant trophy.
Once you’re on top of the trophy, you want to pop the Elephant Bananza and start inhaling the sea of gold in front of you. Because the gold fills in your Bananergy gauge, you’ll have unlimited access to this form as long as you’re collecting it.
Since the trophy is hollow, you must be mindful of your farming route. What worked the best for us was to start at the top and make our way around the outer edge. Leave a strip so you can reach the center platform and collect the inner ring of gold.
After you’ve cleared the top, drop down inside the trophy and start inhaling the gold walls. Remember that you can use your suction ability while holding onto a wall, which will allow you to reach more difficult spots. Eventually, navigating inside the trophy will become a nightmare. This is your cue to open your map and press the plus button to reset the terrain.
By resetting terrain, you won’t lose progression or gold, but it will restore the layer and teleport you back to your last checkpoint. Now you’re free to hop into the barrel, head back to the trophy, and take all of the gold again.
Although you might get influxes of gold coming from simply playing the game, this is the best method to farm large quantities of it. And if you lose or spend all the gold you farmed, don’t worry. As long as you have access to a Warp Gong, you can fast travel back to the Racing Layer whenever you need to grab more gold.
