New Holiday Inn Express to Open in Changanassery, Kerala, India in 2027

IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered into a franchise agreement with KGA International Trades Private Limited to develop a Holiday Inn Express in Changanassery, Kerala, India. The hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027.

The new Holiday Inn Express will be situated in Changanassery, a town in Kerala’s Kottayam district, renowned for its picturesque backwaters and historic sites. The hotel will be part of the KGA Mall, a mixed-use development currently under construction. The facility will feature 90 rooms, various dining options, a banquet hall with a capacity for over 100 guests, a swimming pool, a multiplex, a family entertainment center, and a range of retail outlets.

Strategically positioned near the central business district, the hotel will be accessible to several nearby towns, including Kochi, Alleppey, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram. This location aims to serve both business and leisure travelers in the region.

This agreement marks IHG’s continued expansion in secondary markets within India. The company currently operates 50 hotels across six brands in the country and has a pipeline of 63 hotels set to open in the next three to five years.
