Sundays in Gastown are popping off this summer and here’s what’s on

30 July 20253 Mins Read

Summer in the city just got even better!

Running now until August 31, Gastown is turning the vibe all the way up with Gastown Sunday Set, which will see a series of alternating events take over the neighbourhood every Sunday.

Water St. is ditching the cars and reclaiming the cobblestones, transforming into an open-air playground with stages, galleries, café patios, dance floors, and more. Plus, everything’s free to attend!

Free parking, transit, and biking info

Alison Boulier Creative/Public Disco

The event has teamed up with local partners to make getting to Gastown every Sunday super easy.

You can park for free for up to three hours at the Easypark lot on 151 W Cordova Street — just make sure you register online and show a same-day receipt from any local business. If you’re coming by transit, just make a purchase at participating businesses to get a free pass.  Or, if you’re rolling on two wheels, enjoy complimentary bike valet on-site at 200 Abbott St from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Plus, Cordova Street will be temporarily two-way from Gore to Richards St. throughout the summer, making the neighbourhood even more accessible.

Now, without further ado, here’s a look at what to expect each Sunday!

Streetside Sessions

Streetside Sessions, on August 31, blends café culture with curated DJ sets to set the tone for your Sunday.

Hosted in collaboration with Public Disco, each stage will feature a thoughtfully curated progression of music, showcasing a diverse range of local talent from communities like TableTutors and bside.radio.

Expect a tasteful mix of jazz, funk, soul, Latin, house, disco, and other eclectic sounds to perfectly blend with the Sunday vibes.

Gastown in Bloom

Gastown in Bloom will take place on August 17, turning the street into a vibrant floral walkway, with seasonal bouquets, pop-up flower stalls, and colour at every turn.

Visitors are invited to stroll, shop, and escape the hustle and bustle to connect with nature — all with cute shops and cafés just steps away.

Open Air Atelier

On August 3, Open Air Atelier is where things get wildly creative! Artists will take over the streets with brushstrokes, installations, and live competitions.

Experience art in all its forms, with everything from live painting to street performances. And be sure to check out the many established Gastown galleries lining the streets too!

Gastown Unscripted

Gastown Unscripted is your chance to slow down, unplug, and wander the streets without a plan. These Sundays, taking place on August 10 and August 24, will have no set agenda — just open streets and room to breathe.

Take a to-go coffee and go for a stroll, hit up a brunch spot, or grab a seat on the nearest patio. Who knows what you’ll discover!?

So, mark your calendars, rally your crew, and get ready to have some fun at Gastown Sunday Set — all summer long!
