The Divide Banandium Gem locations in Donkey Kong Bananza

1 August 20256 Mins Read

In Donkey Kong Bananza, The Divide is the fourth layer that’ll you descend into, and its full of pink and blue goo — and a few Banandium Gems (golden bananas).

The Divide is a fairly short level, so it’s extremely easy to blitz through and miss all of the bananas hidden inside. Make sure to look up and down as you traverse the area or else you’ll miss out on a bunch of Banandium Gems and a couple familiar faces. The Divide also acts as a path to your next destination, but this time you’re given a choice — the Freezer Layer or the Forest Layer?

Below, we list where to find all of the Banandium Gems in the The Divide Layer in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Sublayer 400 Banandium Gems

There are 10 Banandium Gems in Sublayer 400 in The Divide Layer.

Defeat Stompenclopper in the Canyon Layer and then jump into the hole to land near a gem worth five bananas.

#2: A Switcheroo Boost

At the end of the bridge, look over the edge to find an outcropping that leads to the Ancient Ruin. Drop down and head inside to find a challenge full of pink and blue goo.

As you break the pink goo, it’ll create blue goo and vice versa. For the first gem, break through enough of the pink goo straight ahead to create a climbable blue goo path on the other side. There’s a gem waiting on the platform it leads to.

#3: A Switcheroo Breakthrough

From there, head to the backside of the level. You’ll need to smash a bit of the pink goo on the left to create climbable wall on the right. Then smash the pink goo on the right to create a way to climb up the left side. You’ll notice that there’s a stone wall on the very left corner of the blue goo patch on the left, so create a blue goo bridge by destroying the bottom layer of the pink goo. Make sure to leave enough space for you to punch through wall and head inside, where you’ll find the next banana.

#4: A Masterful Switcheroo Maneuver

Climb to the top from there and punch enough of the pink goo at the center of the map to form a blue goo platform below you. You’ll need to make it high enough that you’re able to get into the underside of the cage holding the gem. If you start digging a little above the middle of the pink goo, that should be a perfect height.

#5: Divide Quiz Master

With your back to the Teeleporter, look up and to the right. You’ll see a Quiz Master on a floating platform. Throw a chunk at it to bring him to the ground and take his quiz to get a gem.

If you’re struggling with the quiz questions, here are the answers:

Question

#6: Switcheroo Through the Wall

With your back to the Teeleporter, go to your right and jump down onto the platform to find a room with pink goo. Smash it to form a blue stairwell on the other side of the wall. Climb back up and drop off the opposite side this time to climb the stairs and reach the gem.

#7: Safe-Landing Switcheroo

When facing the Teeleporter, walk to the edge of the map on your left and then turn right to drop down a step. Look over the edge on your left and you’ll see another platform you can drop down to. Climb along the ceiling, smashing the pink goo on each side to form a blue platform, and proceed to the banana.

#8: Battle: Uproot the Brute

If you walk past the Teeleporter on either side, you’ll notice that you can drop down to a secret area. Follow the goo paths on either side and you’ll uncover an Ancient Ruin. Complete the battle course by pulling the turnips until you reach a Crockoid to defeat for a banana.

#9: Cranky’s Divide Rant

Destroy the pink goo cube beside the Teeleporter to create a climbable blue wall on the other side. Climb the goo wall to reach the platform above the Teeleporter and look up when you arrive to see a platform floating in the air. Toss a chunk at it to lower it to find none other than Cranky Kong. Listen to his rant to get a Banandium Gem.

#10: Decked Out in Animal Print

This is a post-game banana that can only be obtained after beating the main story.

Talk to Glamtone while DK’s fur is dyed Monochrome Gradient (from the Groove Layer) and he’s wearing Traction Britches (from the Canyon Layer) to get this banana.

The next layer after this one is either the Freezer Layer or the Forest Layer, depending on which choice you pick. You will need to do them both anyway and you can backtrack and swap routes freely, so it doesn’t really matter which path you take.
