If you have guests over that unexpectedly may need to stay the night, you definitely don’t want them to have to sleep on the floor. Futons come in clutch in these instances, but if that’s not a viable solution for your space, adding a convertible chair to your décor may be the answer.

Sleeper chairs inherently take up less room and are way easier to place amongst your existing furniture — especially this folding convertible armchair from Costway. Its super compact design is perfect for small spaces, and it’s on sale for over 50% off right now at Walmart! The gray version is marked down to $150, while a blue variety is discounted to $170 — which is still a great deal.

Shoppers said that when “occasional guests” need to crash, this convertible chair has been very “convenient to have.” In its folded form it looks like your basic, run-of-the-mill accent chair, but its smart design transforms into three additional modes. You can unfurl the seat cushion to create a chaise lounge, and we’re obsessed with the fact that the armrests turn into legs that keep this lower portion propped up.

The backrest also lays flat to turn the chair into a cot, and this feature really comes in handy when someone is staying the night unexpectedly. Reviewers said that as a bed, this chair feels “very sturdy and comfortable,” and that it “folds out easily” in a pinch. Some shoppers noted that it’s not the softest sleeping spot on its own, but that’s nothing a sleeping bag or mattress pad can’t fix! One reviewer called it a “great buy!”

You can also adjust the backrest to six different angles to give you a recliner type of feel, which is a major added bonus. Lastly, you’re able to completely tuck the chair’s legs away to create a floor chair, which we think is an awesome feature for movie nights.

Reviewers have been super impressed with how “functional” this Costway convertible armchair is and said it’s “excellent” on all fronts. Its design is “amazing” and it’s a “perfect” fit for multiple different areas in the home. If you’re looking for a clever way to make your home more accommodating for guests, this is the chair you need!
