Quebec’s September weather forecast is here and it’s got a little bit of everything

14 August 20252 Mins Read

After a summer full of heat waves, sticky humidity, surprise downpours and even a few air quality alerts, you might be hoping September weather gives folks in Quebec a smooth landing into fall. The latest long-range forecast from the Farmers’ Almanac says… well, not exactly.

The century-old publication — known for using a quirky mix of math and astronomy to make long-range predictions — is calling for a bit of everything next month. And while it’s not the most scientific forecast in the world, its big-picture outlook tends to line up with reality more often than you’d think.

According to the Almanac, September will be a total mixed bag, starting stormy, mellowing out mid-month, and then flipping back and forth between sunshine and showers.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Sept. 1 to 3: Thunderstorms around Labour Day, then a quick return to sunshine.
  • Sept. 4 to 7: Scattered showers and storms, followed by clear skies.
  • Sept. 8 to 11: A bit of everything, from clouds to sun.
  • Sept. 12 to 15: Mostly sunny and dry.
  • Sept. 16 to 19: Nice weather before some on-and-off rain.
  • Sept. 20 to 23: Warm, sunny conditions.
  • Sept. 24 to 27: Heavy showers and possible thunderstorms.
  • Sept. 28 to 30: Gradual clearing and a calmer finish.

So, in short: expect a bumpy start to the month, some gorgeous patio weather in the middle, and a few curveballs before October rolls in.

And if you’re already wondering what’s in store after the leaves fall, you can check out Quebec’s winter 2025-2026 forecast here.
