Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell has officially filed for divorce from his wife, Janet Von Schmeling, three years after they split up. The 39-year-old filed court documents in Seminole County, Fla., two years after Von Schmeling filed for divorce in Los Angeles, Calif. in 2023, according to court documents viewed by Entertainment Weekly.
“The process began back in 2023 when his wife filed citing irreconcilable differences,” said Bell’s manager, Juan José Rovirosa, in a statement to the publication.
He went on, “At this stage, both of them are simply concluding that legal process. Their priority remains the safety and wellbeing of their son, and they are doing so from a place of love and respect — closing a beautiful chapter of their lives that now evolves into a different form of love and complicity, always centered on their child’s best interests.”
Bell Secretly Tied the Knot With Von Schmeling in 2018
The Drake & Josh star’s wife, Von Schmeling, filed for divorce in early 2023, listing their official split as happening in 2022. The couple got married in 2018 and welcomed a son named Wyatttogether, although Bell didn’t publicly reveal his big family news until 2021. The actor and singer kept his relationship with Von Schmeling out of the public eye throughout their time together.

The Father of One Recently Opened up About Co-Parenting With His Ex
In an interview last month on The Unplanned Podcast, Bell spoke earnestly about how he and Von Schmeling work to successfully co-parent Wyatt despite their personal differences, saying, “I don’t care if I’m angry at my ex-wife. All my son knows is that me and his mom love each other.”
Bell continued, “We’re not together, but we love each other. We respect each other and we love him unconditionally.”

The former Masked Singerstar’s son, Wyatt, has made very rare appearances on his social media, and Bell tends to keep that part of his life private. In one of the few appearances, Bell showed off some happy photos with Wyatt at Disney World in early 2023.
