Summer is officially coming to a close, and for many of us, that means jam-packed weekends are slowing down, school schedules are starting up again and it feels exciting to begin making new vacation plans—either for the whole family or a much-needed grown up getaway.
I was recently able to visit a gorgeous resort in the Caribbean, and the whole time I was there, I kept thinking how truly perfect it is for either option—adults only, or bringing along the kids. Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club, 380 acres of relaxation and fun, truly has something for everyone. From their international golf course (recently honored as the Caribbean’s Golf Resort of the Year), hydroponic garden, beautiful beaches, lazy river (and water slide tower) and commitment to giving back, this location has proven to be one of a kind.

Where Is Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club Located?
East of the British Virgin Islands, the resort is located on the island of Anguilla, “the most northerly of the Eastern Caribbean’s Leeward Islands,” as their website explains.

How Do You Get There?
“Anguilla is easily accessible with direct commercial flights from Miami or a short transfer upon arrival from major cities across the nation through St. Maarten (SXM) and now San Juan (SJU),” according to Aurora Anguilla’s site.
Then, there are air or water charter options available to bring you to Anguilla, where there are ground transfer options available.
After flying in through St. Maarten, I was able to go the water transfer route with a shared sea shuttle before switching to a ground transfer to the resort, and it was perfect!

Aurora Anguilla Resort Rooms and Pricing
In total, there are 178 suites and villas throughout Aurora Anguilla. There are two main sections of the resort: Merrywing Beach (very close to the Aurora Entertainment Park with a pool complex, amphitheater, cabanas and more) and Rendezvous Beach.
- Rooms in The Tower at Merrywing Beach (perfect for families!) start at $1,299 per night (although seasonal offers start at $399—more about that below)
- Rooms off of Rendezvous Beach start at $1,519 per night
- Merrywing Beach rooms start at $1,559 per night
- Villas and Estate Homes start at $5,339 per night
When Is the Best Time To Visit?
One of the very best times to visit from a financial standpoint is during their “Secret Season”—AKA between September 1 and October 31—when rates are 40% off, starting from $399.
You can also save anytime before December 31 by simply extending your stay—discounts increase when you book between four and seven nights.
Peak season for traveling to the Caribbean, however, is typically December-April.

Dining Options
There are six restaurants at the resort—as well as a café. While I had fantastic experiences at each restaurant we went to, there was one standout that I’m still dreaming about…more about that, below.
Chef’s Table
Open for breakfast each morning, Chef’s Table has a buffet option as well as menu options to order from. No matter which route you go, I definitely recommend trying one of their fresh juices.
C Level
Right on Rendezvous Beach, this dining option is laidback and so relaxing—whether you’ve got a cocktail in hand or you’re just staring out at the water. The Lobster Quesadilla, Charred Broccoli and C-Level Johnny Cakes were some of the standout dishes we tried.
D Richard’s
The only steakhouse in Anguilla, D Richard’s is open all day and is in the perfect location for anyone pre- or post- teeing off, as it’s located right at the Aurora International Golf Club. As you might expect, every dish was delicious.
Tokyo Bay
OK, this dining experience absolutely blew me away—it was a highlight of the trip for sure. I could go on and on about the rolls, fried rice and scallops, but there was one appetizer, in particular, our whole table agreed was completely life-changing: Short Rib Gyoza.
We made a point to let Executive Chef Joe Richardson know we were obsessed, and he wasn’t surprised. Order it.
Breezes
Breezes Beach Club is right on Merrywing Beach, and it has the exact same laidback vibes as C Level. They each offer live music on some evenings as well.
Oliva
Italian-inspired with an “Anguillan twist,” Oliva is inside the Tower at Merrywing Beach and has plenty of seafood and dishes made with local ingredients to choose from.
Rendezvous Café
If you have a sweet tooth, you have to make a stop (or three) here. I highly recommend the Café Latte Shake (vanilla gelato, espresso shot, chocolate syrup, whipped cream), and their macarons.
Best Things To Do at the Resort
Besides enjoying their six restaurants, there are so many unique activities you can enjoy at Aurora Anguilla.
Enjoy the Water
First things first, “just” sitting on the beach is as enjoyable and rejuvenating as you’d hope.
But if you head over to the Aurora Entertainment Park, there are even more family-friendly water options.
The Aurora Entertainment Park—on the Merrywing Beach side of the resort—has pickleball courts, beach volleyball, basketball and mini golf, a large amphitheater, as well as an impressive pool complex. This water park offers a splash pad, pool, lazy river, slide tower and private cabanas.
While your kiddos go up and down the water slides, you can order a drink at the poolside bar—so it’s a win-win for everyone (I highly recommend relaxing on the lazy river too).
And if we’re already on the subject of relaxation, you have to check out Aurora Anguilla’s award-winning spa.
The Sorana Spa
The Sorana Spa is near the resort’s Rendezvous Beach, and offers a self-care sanctuary that includes sauna, swim and cold plunge experiences. There are facial, nail, hair and massage appointments you can book as well. After my massage, I headed to the beach and honestly thought I might simply melt away from the tranquility of it all.

Go Golfing
Aurora Anguilla offers golf clinics with PGA-certified professionals. As a total novice, I wasn’t sure what to expect with a golf lesson, but it was actually so much fun (and made me feel excited to give this sport a shot—pun intended—after arriving back home).
But for already-established golfers, you’ll be pleased to know there are two beautiful courses to choose from at the resort: the Aurora International Golf Club’s Greg Norman Signature Design 18-hole International Course and the 9-hole short course, Avalon Links.
On the International Course for Aurora guests, prices start at $195 for 18 holes during low season from July 1-October 31 (and $245 during high season from November 1-June 30) and $145 for 9 holes during low season (and $185 during high season). Meanwhile, the cost for Aurora guests to golf on Avalon Links starts at $40 during low season and $60 during high season.

Tours and Classes
Aurora Anguilla offers tours of their hydroponic farm (this was one of my favorite activities of the trip), cooking classes, wine tastings and more. You can take pickleball classes, go snorkeling or diving, do a cave tour… the possibilities are seemingly endless.
My Honest Review
After spending a few days at Aurora Anguilla, I felt completely impressed and rejuvenated. The beaches and rooms were beautiful, there was no such thing as a bad meal, and the hospitality in every distinct area was notable.
One of the most significant things that stuck out to me (and has left a lasting impression) is the overall mission behind the resort—one that focuses on sustainability. As their website explains, “Aurora strives to reduce its ecological footprint while leaving a positive mark on Anguilla and beyond.” And this priority is obvious throughout the entire resort—especially when it comes to their hydroponic farm.
Aurora Anguilla boasts 10,000 sq ft of farmland, providing almost 90% of the fruits, vegetables and herbs that they use.
The resort also explains, “We support initiatives that focus on youth, education and local culture. Doing well as a world-class resort means that we’re also doing good for the community.”
This shared priority was clear while speaking with numerous representatives throughout my trip, and it truly sets this destination apart from others.
Final thoughts
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay—my room was right off of Rendezvous Beach and I loved stepping out each morning to walk along the shore. If you’re going with kids, I’d recommend being on the Merrywing Beach side of the resort, just steps away from the Entertainment Park. But no matter what side you’re on, get ready to feel pampered while having a ton of fun.
Now, I’m already plotting when I can book a trip back—this time, with my family in tow.
