The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is putting on a free Disney-themed concert

25 August 20252 Mins Read

Disney lovers, get your shoes on and head out for Symphony in the Square!

Each summer, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra focuses on performing outdoors, taking its music into the streets. For two days in Churchill Square, they will be performing with four Broadway-calibre singers for a Disney-themed night to remember.

The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is Edmonton’s own premier symphony, dedicated to bringing high-quality live orchestral performances to the city. In the last couple of decades, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra has solidified itself as one of Canada’s leading orchestral ensembles. The orchestra performs a range of works, comprising great classical pieces to more popular recent works like the Harry Potter soundtrack or, like now, Disney classics.

What to expect

On Aug. 29 and 30, Churchill Square will transform into a concert venue for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra’s Disney in Concert: Live Your Dream at 7 p.m. both nights.

For two hours, including an intermission, get transported directly into the kingdom of Disney.

Joined by four singers and accompanied by high-resolution animated feature film sequences, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra will explore some of the most iconic moments from your favourite Disney movies. Through plot twists and daring heroics, this evening will highlight all the magical feelings only Disney movies can evoke.

Food vendors will be available on-site for everyone to enjoy. Vendors are including, but not limited to, local favourites like the delicious Mexican food from El Mero Mero Taqueria, Edmonton’s favourite Filistix, and refreshing lemonade from Lemon Heaven.

These concerts are free to attend, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to get a good spot. You can bring along your own blankets, cushions, or chairs for seating and maximum comfort. Accessible seating is also available for those requiring assistance.

Help support the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra by attending, and experience child-like wonder again with the magic of Disney.

When: Friday, Aug. 29, 2025 and Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025
Time: 7 p.m.
Where: Sir Winston Churchill Square — 100th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free
