Toronto’s last 8 p.m. sunset of the year is this week

25 August 20252 Mins Read

There is nothing I dread more than when the days get shorter and the weather gets cooler. Well, the time is coming, Toronto. The city will experience its last 8 p.m. sunset of the year this week, so if you’re like me and want to savour it, here’s what to know.

When is the last 8 p.m. sunset of the year?

According to Time and Date, Toronto’s last 8 p.m. sunset will happen on Aug. 27, 2025, at 8:01 p.m. After that, all sunsets occur at 7:59 p.m. or earlier.

By Sept. 29, 2025, sunsets will start as early as 7:01 p.m. *single tear drop rolls down face*

One thing we can look forward to? There are still two more months before we “fall back” an hour, and Daylight Saving Time ends.

The weather for the 27th is set to be cool (a high of 23) and mostly sunny. While there will be a small mix of clouds in the evening, let’s hope it clears up enough to catch one last late sunset.

Looking for somewhere to watch the sun go down? We got you covered. Some of our favourite places in Toronto include:

  • Riverdale Park East
  • Toronto Islands
  • Polson Pier
  • Earlscourt Park
  • Scarborough Bluffs
  • City Skyline and Sunset Viewpoint
  • Toronto Music Garden

Enjoy that last 8 p.m. sunset, Toronto, and get ready to embrace fall. It’ll be here before we know it!
