Well, Toronto, September is here. The summer season was an absolute blast, but I think we’re ready for fall… right? If you’re on the fence, you’re not alone. Thankfully, there are still a ton of things to do in Toronto this month that will keep you feeling summer’s vibe. If you need some help planning your month, we’ve got you covered. From concerts to festivals, and everything in between, here are 10 things to do in Toronto this September.

You won’t be disappointed.

Dula Peep… sorry, Dua Lipa is coming to Toronto! Get your tickets and catch her do what she does best, live on stage.

When: Sept. 1 and 2, 2025
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Where: Scotiabank Arena
Cost: $123+

The Toronto International Film Festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and needless to say, it’s going to be big.

The streets will be filled with people hoping to get a peek at their favourite celebrities, those heading to fantastic films, and everyone just enjoying the outdoor festivities. The 10-day festival will definitely pack a punch!

When: Sept. 4 to 14, 2025
Where: King Street, several theatre locations

Splitsville Bowl Waterloo is better than ever! With a sleek look, 24 lanes of 10-pin bowling, a state-of-the-art arcade, and a vibrant lounge, it’s your go-to spot for fun. Students can score 2 games starting from $10 (Monday to Thursday, walk-ins only) with a valid student ID. Plus, no rental shoes needed — just bring your own flat-soled shoes. Grab your friends and roll into Splitsville Bowl Waterloo today!

When: Mondays to Thursdays (during opening hours)
Where:  Splitsville Bowl Waterloo (341 Marsland Dr., Waterloo)
Cost: Starting from $10 for 2 games when students show a valid ID. Available for walk-ins only.

Toronto’s Cabbagetown Festival is gearing up for its annual two-day celebration this September. The free weekend event will include DJs and live music, street performers, artisan shops, food trucks, and much more.

Ringing in its 46th anniversary, the beloved event kicks off on Sept. 6 and will end on Sept. 7 with a fantastic parade.

When: Sept. 6 and 7, 2025
Time: Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Parliament St. and Carlton St., Cabbagetown, Toronto
Cost: Free

Lady Gaga is coming to Toronto, this is not a drill! The city is excited, and the prices definitely reflect that. If you’re willing to drop a pretty penny, tickets are still on sale!

When: Sept. 13, 2025
Time: 8 p.m.
Where: Scotiabank Arena
Cost: $665

From traditional folk dancing to delicious, pillowy soft pierogi, embrace the best of Polish-Canadian culture with 40 restaurants, bakeries, bistros and bars, 150 local merchants, 90+ vendors and exhibitors, four stages, and six beer gardens and patios! 

When: Saturday, Sept. 13 to Sunday, Sept. 14
Time: 
Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Roncesvalles Avenue (between Grafton Avenue and Dundas Street West)
Cost: Free

Water/Fall Festival will run from Sept. 27 to 28 and from Oct. 4 to 5, and is completely free to attend.

“Locals and visitors are all invited to experience Toronto’s waterfront in a new way this Fall — with a trail of markets, events and art exhibits across a two km stretch of Queens Quay,” says Tim Kocur, executive director of the Waterfront BIA.

The spooktacular annual event returns to Canada’s Wonderland this year. This year will feature six haunted mazes, seven immersive scare zones, and thrilling night rides, too.

And, for the first time ever, the event will now be included with all park tickets and Season Passes. You won’t need to buy a separate ticket.

When: Starting Sept. 26, 2025
Where: Canada’s Wonderland

Canada’s largest book and magazine festival, The Word On The Street, is back this month. Check out the vibrant marketplace, where you’ll find books, magazines, and more.

When: Sept. 27 and 28, 2025
Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: David Pecaut Square
Cost: Free to attend

A celebration of the strong and flavourful bulbous plant, festival-goers can enjoy some unique activities like the garlic breath contest, where the festival will test the stinkiest breath in parts per million and award the winner with the strongest mouth, and free garlic shots all day long!

When: Sunday, September 28
Where: Spadina Road from Davenport to Dupont
Where: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Cost: Free admission
