Everything coming to Game Pass in the first half of September

2 September 20252 Mins Read

Not only is Team Cherry launching Hollow Knight: Silksong on Sept. 4, but the highly anticipated sequel is also headlining the first half of September’s Game Pass additions.

Silksong will be a day-one release on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. In the follow-up to Hollow Knight, players take control of Hornet, an NPC in the first game, and fend off very weird-looking bosses while exploring its dense, Metroidvania levels. Team Cherry spent so long developing Silksong, which was announced as a full sequel in 2019, mostly because it was having too good of a time making it. “I went, ‘Everything I’m drawing here has to end up in the game. That’s a cool idea, that’s in. That’s a cool idea, that’s in,'” Team Cherry co-founder Ari Gibson told Bloomberg. “You realize, ‘If I don’t stop drawing, this is going to take 15 years to finish.'”

One of the best Metroidvanias this side of the original Hollow Knight will also be available more widely on Game Pass. Nine Sols will now be available with Game Pass Standard on Sept. 3. Nine Sols blends the exploration you’d expect out of a Metoridvania with Sekiro-like parrying and combat.

Here’s everything from the first wave of September Game Pass additions:

  • I Am Your Beast (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X) — Sept. 2
  • Nine Sols (Xbox Series X) – Sept. 3
  • Hollow Knight: Silksong (Cloud, Console, and PC) – Sept. 4
  • Cataclismo (PC) – Sept. 4
  • Paw Patrol World (Cloud, Console, and PC) – Sept. 10
  • RoadCraft (Cloud and Xbox Series X) – Sept. 16

A few titles are leaving midway through the month, though you may be too busy with Paw Patrol World to notice. These games are leaving Game Pass on Sept. 16:

  • All You Need is Help (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Wargroove 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie (Cloud, Console, and PC)

September’s new Game Pass games follow last month’s, which included Dragon Age: The Veilguard and the latest remaster of Gears of War.
