The just-fully-announced Legion Go 2 will be the first handheld outside of Asus that’s confirmed to get the new Xbox full-screen experience. Lenovo spokesperson Jeff Witt tells me buyers will be able to manually switch the handheld to Xbox FSE after it’s ready in the spring 2026 time frame. Asus will get it far sooner on October 16th when it co-launches the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X with Microsoft, and then Microsoft’s “next focus” will be bringing it to the original Asus ROG Ally and Ally X.
Fingers crossed that a far lighter version of Windows will improve performance, like we’ve seen when running SteamOS on the same hardware as Windows, and let these handhelds intelligently wake and sleep. We’ve already seen the Xbox FSE can save memory and is easier to navigate with a gamepad, but Microsoft’s only given us very limited time with it.
