Dexter: Resurrection is a direct sequel to Dexter and Dexter: New Blood. In the finale of New Blood, Dexter Morgan was killed. However, in the opening scene of Dexter: Original Sin, Dexter was revealed to have survived death. The official synopsis for the series reads, “Ten weeks after the events of Dexter: New Blood, Dexter Morgan, who has recovered from his near-fatal gunshot wound, traces a missing Harrison to New York City, as Captain Angel Batista from Miami is hot on their trail.”
