After a year and change in early access, players can soon enjoy the full release of Hades 2. Announced during Friday’s Nintendo Direct, Hades 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows PC on Sept. 25.
Hades 2’s 1.0 release mirrors its early access launch as it was shadow dropped May 6, 2024. It being a timed Nintendo console exclusive shouldn’t be too surprising either as the first game wasn’t ported to PlayStation and Xbox until almost a year later.
The Switch 2 version of Hades 2 will support 120 fps in TV Mode on Nintendo Switch 2, or 60 fps on Nintendo Switch. Players can also transfer their existing PC progress from Steam or Epic with Cross Saves.
Supergiant Games hinted a 1.0 launch was near in June with The Unseen Update, when it said it was “very excited to be getting close” to the game’s full launch. Hades 2 received a “final” update in July before a second final update a few weeks later.
Hades 2 has enjoyed an overwhelmingly positive reception since its early access release. With its full launch, it may end up being one of those prized sequels that’s just as good as the original — or even better.
