Meanwhile, Carlin’s sister, Erin, and her husband, Chad Paine, announced on Saturday that Erin was finally released from the hospital after giving birth to their baby boy, Henry, on Aug. 25.
“After almost three weeks in the hospital, I have never been so thankful to finally head home to our babies,” Erin wrote via Instagram next to a photo of her in a wheelchair holding her newborn son as Chad posed next to them. “We don’t have all the answers yet, and I still don’t have function in my right leg, but we are choosing to count every blessing—especially the gift of being together again. Your prayers have carried us through and mean the world to our family. ❤️.”

Erin’s homecoming came after she revealed she developed a “severe UTI” and a kidney infection, resulting in septic shock and an ICU stay. Later, she also suffered a “lengthy and severe seizure.“
Chad posted a hopeful update on Sept. 6, writing, “With tears in our eyes, we are praising the Lord that we are on the road to recovery. ❤️🩹. Your prayers have definitely touched heaven. 🙏🏻.” On Sept. 9, he then announced that Erin was transferred to a different hospital as she continued her recovery.

In his last update before Erin’s hospital release, Chad thanked followers for their prayers and support.
“We have been completely overwhelmed by the love and support of family and friends during this difficult season,” he shared. “From watching the kids and taking them on adventures, to helping with baby Henry and lifting Erin up with encouragement—you have carried us in ways we can’t even put into words.”
Hopefully, both Bates sisters will continue with smooth recoveries after their birth experiences.
