Celebrate the best of the upcoming seasons with exciting live performances at Gateway Theatre

15 September 20252 Mins Read

It’s family-fun time in Vancouver, just in time for the upcoming fall and winter seasons.

If you’re looking for unique programming and guaranteed good times, then check out the exciting line-up from Richmond’s Gateway Theatre.

Autumnal celebrations

Kick off the fun with To The Moon: Mid-Autumn Celebration on Sunday, Oct. 5, a family-friendly event featuring craft lantern making featuring a performance by local talent Renee Fajarado and complimentary mooncakes from Anna’s Cake House.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a Chinese tradition that honours the full harvest as a symbol of prosperity and togetherness, when the moon is at its fullest after the autumnal equinox.

This special concert merges Disney favourites, Broadway hits, movie musical scores, and even a visit from “Golden” of K-pop Demon Hunters. Pro tip: This event sold out last year, so get your tickets fast!

Mysterious tales

Then from Oct. 16 to Oct. 25, check out Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt. 2B, a live performance on the MainStage. A modern and feminist take on a classic Sherlock Holmes tale, the comedic plot follows two main characters as they navigate post-pandemic life and butt heads with a charming supervillain.

With shows taking place each day, there are plenty of chances to catch this unique show. Don’t forget to check out the Pay-What-You-Will night on Oct. 16 and the 2-for-1 ticket special on Oct. 21.

Broadway classics

The Gateway’s programming continues with Annie, running from Dec. 11 to Jan. 3, on the MainStage. Follow this classic story as little orphan Annie steals hearts in 1930s New York City — perfect for the holiday season.

Annie is sure to be a popular one, and on Dec. 11, there will be a Pay-What-You-Will night. Additionally, on Dec. 16, you can get 2-for-1 ticket prices. Major score!

Theatrical fun awaits
