IHG Hotels & Resorts has inaugurated its first dual-branded hotel in Australia with the opening of Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins and Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall. The development is situated in the Melbourne Walk precinct, adjacent to Bourke Street Mall, a prominent retail area in the city.

The Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins features 179 rooms and incorporates heritage elements from the site’s history, including the preservation of facades from buildings such as Diamond House and the Public Benefit Bootery. The hotel features a design that reflects the local cultural heritage, with elements such as a spiral staircase and a mural by local artist Lisa King.

The hotel also includes a dining venue, Fern Bar & Dining, which serves modern Melbourne cuisine. The restaurant extends to an outdoor courtyard known as Fern’s Garden.

The Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall marks the brand’s return to Melbourne’s CBD after a five-year absence. The hotel comprises 273 rooms and features an open-plan lobby and public spaces. The design includes modern artworks inspired by Melbourne’s landmarks and a palette that aims to create a relaxed atmosphere. A notable feature is a 220-square-metre terrace with views over Bourke Street Mall.

The hotel’s dining option, The Greenery, offers all-day dining with a menu focused on familiar dishes. The venue also offers a buffet breakfast and a “Kids Stay & Eat Free” program.

Hotel Indigo is part of a global portfolio of over 170 hotels, while Holiday Inn has more than 1,200 locations worldwide.
