Tim Hortons is joining forces with Canadian Tire & it could shake up your daily coffee run

16 September 20252 Mins Read

Two of Canada’s biggest brands are about to make your daily shopping habits more rewarding.

Earlier this week, Tim Hortons and Canadian Tire announced a new loyalty partnership that will officially launch in 2026. The deal will connect Tim’s Rewards and Triangle Rewards, meaning Canadians will be able to link their accounts and earn extra perks just by grabbing their usual order at Tim’s.

According to a Canadian Tire press release, when the program goes live, linked members will be able to:

  • Earn Canadian Tire Money (CTM) on eligible Tim Hortons purchases.
  • Access exclusive offers through both loyalty platforms.
  • Collect even more CTM if they pay with a Triangle Mastercard.

In other words, your morning double-double and Timbits will soon earn you not just Tims Rewards points, but Canadian Tire Money too, essentially double-dipping on rewards for the same purchase.

The partnership brings together two of the most widely used loyalty programs in the country. Triangle Rewards already has nearly 12 million members, and millions of Canadians use Tim’s Rewards every week.

Tim Hortons also becomes the fourth major brand to join Triangle Rewards, following Petro-Canada, RBC, and WestJet. For Canadian Tire, it’s another step toward building a system where customers are rewarded for everything from filling up their car to buying hockey sticks — and now, stopping for coffee.

For everyday consumers, it could mean serious value over time. A daily Tim’s run will soon count toward discounts on things like tools, patio furniture, sports gear, or even car maintenance at Canadian Tire stores.

However, some details regarding how the partnership will work for consumers remain unclear.

The companies haven’t shared which Tim Hortons menu items will qualify for CTM earnings or exactly how much will be rewarded per purchase, but more details are expected as the 2026 launch approaches.

Until then, Canadians can keep collecting points as usual. But soon, that steeped tea or Iced Capp could be doing more than just waking you up — it might also help pay for your next set of tires.
