International Air Arrivals

In the period January–July 2025, international air arrivals reached 15.2 million, showing an increase of +769 thousand/+5.3% compared with the same period of 2024.

In July, 4.9 million arrivals were recorded, presenting an increase of +212 thousand/+4.6% compared with July 2024.

The upward trend continued across the main geographical regions in the period January–July 2025. Specifically, most international air arrivals were recorded in Crete, with 3.0 million passengers, up by +121 thousand/+4.2% compared with the same period of 2024. The Dodecanese followed with 2.4 million arrivals (+33 thousand/+1.4%) and the Ionian Islandswith 2.2 million passengers, showing an increase of +92 thousand/+4.5%. In the Peloponnese, arrivals reached 134 thousand passengers (+12 thousand/+9.6%). In contrast, the Cyclades was the only geographical region that recorded a decrease, with 638 thousand arrivals, down by -51 thousand/-7.4% compared with 2024.
Travel Receipts

In the period January–June 2025, travel receipts recorded an increase of +11.0% compared with the same period of 2024 and amounted to €7,659 million.

This development was driven both by the increase in receipts from residents of EU countries by +8.5%, amounting to €4,070 million, and by the rise in receipts from residents of non-EU countries by +13.7%, amounting to €3,210 million. More specifically, receipts from euro area countries reached €3,291 million, up by +7.7%, while receipts from EU countries outside the euro area increased by +12.4% and amounted to €779 million.

In particular, receipts from Germany recorded a rise of +13.5% and reached €1,366 million, while receipts from France increased by +2.1% to €456 million. Receipts from Italy were also strengthened by +9.0%, amounting to €345 million.

Among non-EU countries, receipts from the United Kingdom rose by +7.3%and reached €1,082 million, while receipts from the USA increased by +29.4%and amounted to €704 million.
Short-Term Rentals

The evolution of the number of short-term rental accommodations in the first half of 2025 shows a continued increase compared with the same period of 2024, maintaining the trend that began in 2023 and intensified in 2024.

In May 2025, with 236 thousand accommodations, a record was registered in the number of available short-term rental accommodations. This record was broken again in June 2025 (242 thousand accommodations) and in July 2025 with 246 thousand accommodations, the highest figure recorded since January 2019 to date.

A similar picture is observed in the available short-term rental beds. In May and June 2025, successive records were recorded in the number of available short-term rental beds (1,038 thousand and 1,061 thousand respectively).

The strong upward trend continued at the peak of the summer season, with July registering a new record, as available beds reached 1,078 thousand, up by +57 thousand compared with July 2024 (1,021 thousand).
