Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed an agreement to open a Tree of Life resort in Pondicherry, India.
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) announced the signing of a new Tree of Life resort in Pondicherry. The project involves the restoration of a heritage-listed property located in Pondicherry’s White Town. The property, which features 18 rooms, is situated at the junction of Rue Suffren and Bazaar Saint Laurent Street, near New Sand Beach.
The development will include an all-day dining restaurant, a swimming pool, and a spa. The resort is designed to serve as a retreat, offering guests access to Pondicherry’s cultural attractions, including its colonial architecture and local cafes.
The property was previously recognized by Vieilles Maisons Françaises (VMF) as ‘Patrimoine Historique,’ highlighting its French colonial legacy. This addition will increase IHCL’s presence in Pondicherry to four properties, with three currently under development.
