Ontario has an open-air gondola ride with panoramic autumn views

19 September 20252 Mins Read

Take your autumn adventures to new heights! The open-air gondola ride at Blue Mountain is an incredible way to enjoy the magic of this colourful season here in Ontario.

According to Destination Ontario, this is one of the best autumn sightseeing experiences in the province.

Views of the Niagara Escarpment and Georgian Bay will be visible all around you, and if you visit at the right time, the trees will be a breathtaking palette of red, orange, and yellow.

Once you arrive, you can either stop for a scenic bite at the Summitview Pavilion or hit one of the mountaintop hiking and biking trails.

The gondola operates from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, with the last ride at the perfect time to catch the sunset. During peak times, groups will be combined to fit more visitors onto the gondola, with a maximum of eight people allowed at one time.

To ride, you’ll need a full-access pass or a limited-access pass. A full-access pass allows you to check out any of Blue Mountain’s attractions all day, including the mountain coaster, high ropes, hiking trails, and putting course.

The limited-access pass lets you pick just four of the attractions at a lower rate.

Full-access rates start at $41 for children under 12 and $49 for everyone else, while limited-access rates start at $30 for anyone 12 and under and $35 for anyone over 13.

While you’re at Blue Mountain, be sure to grab a bite in the village and do some walking around. Copper Blues is my personal fave when it comes to dining, but there are other options like Mother Tongue, Rusty’s, Firehall Pizza, and Camino Taco.
