Prince Harry won’t be returning as a senior working member of the royal family, according to Us Weekly. There has been a great deal of chatter about the Duke of Sussex after he met up with his father, King Charles, earlier this month. However, Harry doesn’t have any plans to move back to the UK and revisit his old life.
Harry would like to bring his two children, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, to the UK to meet their extended family, but he and his wife, Meghan Markle, don’t have any plans to move out of California for a life behind palace walls, despite what you may read online.
Us Weekly‘s report comes on the heels of a rumor sparked by celebrity gossip account DeuxMoi, which posted a blind item on Sept. 16 suggesting a “very significant” royal announcement could be coming soon. While DeuxMoi is known for sharing user-submitted tips without independent verification, the post quickly fueled speculation online — with many fans in the comments section guessing it might involve Harry and Meghan returning to royal life. Of course, this remains nothing more than an unverified rumor, but the online chatter it generated shows how much public interest still surrounds the couple’s relationship with the monarchy
Those rumors may have intensified after British singer Joss Stone implied that Harry would love for his kids to go to school in the UK.
“He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children,” Stone said while chatting with Hello! magazine. “He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children. It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back – for the kids to grow up surrounded by family, friends, and a strong sense of belonging and most importantly in a safe environment,” she added.
Meanwhile, in an interview with The Guardian, Harry admitted that his “focus” this year will be on mending his relationship with his father. However, his involvement in royal life is unlikely to be much greater than that.
