Edmonton, the fall is in full swing, and there’s so much to do.

The weather is finally starting to cool down, and the mornings are getting chillier and chillier. No worries, that doesn’t mean the events are stopping. In fact, there are even more things to do within the city than ever.

Let’s get into the best things to do this weekend in Edmonton.

This Friday marks the beginning of one of Edmonton’s best scares for the season. Deadmonton haunted house has been around for 12 years, and if you haven’t been before, you definitely have to go this season.

Prices vary depending on when you go, so be sure to plan accordingly.

When: Friday, Sept. 26, 2025
Time: 6:30 to 11 p.m.

Ten days of superior cinema are taking over Edmonton for the Edmonton International Film Festival. With a great selection of films for this year, pick a movie, grab some pals, and enjoy the 39th edition of this beloved annual fest.

When: Starts Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025
Where: Landmark Cinemas 9 City Centre — 10200 102nd Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.; Metro Cinema — 8712 109th St. NW

The Elks face off against the Saskatchewan Roughriders this Saturday. This special game will highlight Indigenous performers, creators, and voices and will include a special Indigenous dance and drum performance at halftime.

Where: Commonwealth Stadium — 11000 Stadium Rd. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

Celebrate Alberta Culture Days with the Royal Alberta Museum, and discover millions of years of natural and cultural history, get up close and personal with live insects, and play all day in the Children’s Gallery.

Admission for these two days is FREE, so don’t miss your chance to witness priceless history at no price at all.

From a root, a flower opens, a program of traditional repertoire and innovative improvisation, will be performed by Pro Coro with their favourite guest conductor, Lone Larsen from Sweden.

The Edmonton Comedy Festival kicked off on Thursday, with 12 shows taking place from the 25th to the 28th at stages around the city.

At the Muttart Conservatory, for only a few days, a showstopping floral display will be presented. Fluers de Villes travels all across the globe, inspiring and partnering with local creatives. This time, it’s Edmonton’s turn.

Wanda Sykes, Emmy-winning stand-up comic, will be performing her Please and Thank You tour at the Jubilee with special guest Keith Robinson.

Where: Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium — 11455 87th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

Edmonton’s Halloween tradition begins on Friday, running until Oct. 31. Over 10,000+ hand-carved pumpkins await — and this is a great spot for a date night or evening out with family.

Western Canada’s largest Oktoberfest celebration is back, and it is kicking off this Friday, with tickets starting at $35.
