Candace Cameron Bure is opening up about her decision to say goodbye to Southern California.
The beloved TV star, 49, rose to international stardom as big sister D.J. Tanner on the iconic sitcom Full House and continued to play her iconic character in the show’s spinoff, Fuller House, which ran from 2016 to 2020. But when filming on that show ended, Cameron Bure decided her time in Southern California had also concluded.
In a new Instagram Q&A with followers, Cameron Bure opened up about her decision to ditch SoCal despite being born and raised in the area. One follower asked, “Why did you leave SoCal?”
In response, Cameron Bure spoke candidly about her decision to leave.
“I still love SoCal, but L.A. is certainly not the same since growing up there and especially since 2020,” said Cameron Bure, who did not elaborate on what she was referring to. “I also love living in a smaller town where people really do know your name (not because I’m on TV. And this beauty?? What’s not to love!?” She posted the text over a stunning image of the sun breaking through the trees with what looks like a vineyard and mountains behind it.

I want to learn lessons, I want to grow and I feel like where I am right now in my life, this is like the perfect opportunity to go and get out of my comfort zone and go do something that is different and that I normally wouldn’t do.”
