These white cathedral bluffs in Toronto display spectacular views of fall colours

26 September 20253 Mins Read

Ever heard of a little place called the Scarborough Bluffs? If you’re from the GTA, this is a staple spot to explore. If you’ve never been or have never heard of them, you’re in for a treat! The bluffs were formed over 12,000 years ago and today, stand as a gorgeous viewpoint just outside the city, displaying Lake Ontario, foliage, and the shoreline.

One of the greatest parts about the Scarborough Bluffs is how easy they are to get to.

There is a bus that runs to the park at the bluffs, the 201 Bluffer’s Park. The bus leaves from Kennedy Station, an easy station to get to from almost any subway stop in the city.

There is also the option of driving, and if you need a place to park, the City of Toronto provides a guide to the best spots nearby.

There are multiple points and parks you can visit while there. Eleven parks line the 15 km of Scarborough Bluffs, featuring “spectacular views of the bluffs and Lake Ontario, trails, beaches, gardens, sports and recreation facilities and more”.

What to see

We recommend the views from above this time of year.

Cathedral Bluffs Park and Scarborough Crescent Park are the areas you’ll want to make note of to see the sky-high sights of foliage and water below.

The City of Toronto warns that if you do decide to visit the top of the bluffs, stay away from the edge. The Bluffs’ edge is considered unstable, and there is a fence in place to separate you from it.

You can get some steps in while continuing to take in all there is to see along The Bluff’s Trail, a path that connects Bluffer’s Beach to Bluffer’s Park.

There’s nothing better than visiting a spot that feels like you’ve been transported somewhere much further than Toronto!

Enjoy Scarborough Bluffs and make sure to get some pics for your Instagram feed.
